Binding is solid, and has been reinforced with library tape at front and rear hinges. Small old bookstore label at lower endpage. Covers maintain their rich color. Corners of pressed board covers are rubbed with small tatters. Upper and lower corner areas have modest age spotting. Missing jacket. Overall, very presentable for this edition. Kistler and Merle Armitage. Well-kept, nicely preserved copy. It is close to a Fine grading excepting the mild fading along the spine edges. The 32 lithographs are looking bright and fresh. Name of former owner on endpage, but else free of marks. Elegant ivory paper looking crisp as new. Plain paper wrappers with handwritten titling and line drawing. Edges have heavy rubbing, with tearing along spine edges. Rear artwork looking quite sharp and bright. Scarce. Benefits the Friends of the Albany, Ca library. .

Insides bright and free of marks, excepting brief owner name ("Robb") at upper front pastedown. Binding is cracked for half of joint at last page but else well intact. Old tan liquid spotting at lower joint of half-title. Pages with light reading wrinkles. Oatmeal colored cloth looking well-kept for their years with bright and clear front design of Mike and Mary Anne. Covers have faint staining that blend into the cover color, along with two more pronounced tan dots to rear. Side corners worn to a bit of board. .

E.P. Dutton & Company, 1939. Book. Good. Cloth. First Edition. A presentable copy of an uncommon classic of photography, and record of New York architectural history. Pages are clean and glossy with sharp, well-defined images. The book is free of foxing. Covers are a rich, even blue with clean surfaces, with the exception of a faint spot at lower corner. Bottom and top edges with moderate to strong rubbing. Chief detractors are strongly bumped corners causing pleats to the upper front tip and a fold in the binding fabric at both front panel corners. Rear cover has a couple of small pen-tip sized impressions. Fading as per usual to the endpaper borders. Lower corner with small pleats to far tips for most of book, and a softer fold a little further up. Jacket has all panels intact, but has suffered the loss of several inches of the front lower corner, and small chips at the top edge. A sound First with bright red covers with strong black design and lettering, and graceful Cain initial medallion on front center. Old orange bookstore sticker on rear endpage from Gordon's Satyr Book Shop at 1620 N. Vine in Hollywood. Pages unmarked but there are a few stains on several pages. Between pages 8 and 9 there are several spots that transfer faintly to the surrounding pages. There is a printing flaw on the last two pages causing uneven edges to the side of the page. The last page with Printer's Note has several large chips to the edge. Penciled name on endpage. Spine with slight shelfslant. Red inked top ends looking even and strong. Front cover has faint small spotting both of clear and a shade lighter spots. Corners are gently bumped with silght fraying to upper spine and front corners. Back cover has several larger and more unattractive greyish spots..

Breathtaking covers of great beauty, with splendid, sparkling gilt-bedecked flower and star design on blue-green cloth. Volume I is amazingly fresh and Vol II is a little more worn, with chief flaw of a split spine on one edge (could be easily repaired). Copiously illustrated including Blake's own works. Frontispiece of Blake with tissue guard. Firm binding, though all hinges are cracked. Foxing to endpapers but pages themselves are clean, except for those with illustrations (different paper content). Poems are selected by Dante Gariel Rossetti. Front photos are dignified portraits the royal family. Interior is fresh and bright. Binding is sound with thick sturdy covers. Covers with bright, well-preserved pictorial print. Spine is sunned, and back cover has a heavy scratch. Edges rubbed as expected, with spine ends a little frayed. Gift inscriptions covering front endpage. Very presentable overall. Due to weight, more postage may be needed..

The jacket has good bright color, but general wear, with rubbing, small chips and scuffs, along with an area of about an inch square on the front panel with surface loss from an old sticker.
