SIGNED by all signatories. approximately 50x70cm.the original document was signed by Ian Smith and his 11 senior cabinet members at 11am on the 11th November 1965. replicas were printed and signed at the bottom in ink by all the original signatories. it is probable that only 12 were printed and one retained by each signatory. this one offered is from the estate of B.H.(Jack) Mussett who passed away in about 2009. included separately is the official photograph in black and white of the signing (approximately 46x46cm) it is on a backing that has original signatures of the 12 signatories. the photograph has Ian Smith seated with 15 members of the cabinet watching. 4 junior cabinet ministers did not sign the UDI document but they were brought in for the photo. they did not sign beneath the photograph. the men in the picture who did not sign were Lance Smith, Ian Dillon, Andrew Dunlop and P.K. van der… Leer más

The second title is SIGNED BY HEINRICH HIMMLER and dated, 14.I.41 in green pencil. Both signatures are VERIFIED. The first volume, "Stadt der Arbeit" is also signed by ERICH STOLLEIT, the Oberburgermeister of Ludwigshafen (for a comparitively short period but during which he efficiently oversaw the Gauleiter command to cleanse the city of its Jews). Stolleit was a controversial figure both within the Nazi Party (party number: 519227) as he ostentatiously distanced himself from the SA as soon as he learned of their anti-Semitic excesses on Kristallnacht. A very good copy of this VERY RARE book that is central to the story of Hungarian nationalism. Makkai's book, written in 1914, was picked up during the inter-war period as an essential text to the expression of Hungarian-Transylvanian nationalism. Bethlen Gabor, one time king of Hungary and Prince of Transylvania, led anti-Habsburg uprisings and revolts during the seventeeth century. His enlightened autocracy left an indelible trace upon his country (for example he instituted the right of a serf's children to education). This rare copy of Makkai (an historian who died in Cluj (in what is now Romania and ironically a central point to the modern Romanian revolution) in 1923 is is smartly rebound in half leather and board. He joined the Grenadier Guards in 1870, becoming a Colonel by 1889 and served in the Nile expedition of 1898, where the British sought to reconquer Sudan and avenge the death of General Gordon.this was achieved at the battle of Omdurman. in this diary Hatton details his experiences before, during and after this battle. he died in 1914.. First Dutch edition of Thomas Burnet's Magnum Opus : 'The Sacred theory of the Earth'. originally published in Latin in 1681 and in English is 1684. this Dutch edition was translated directly from the Latin, complete in original binding with 5 raised bands on the spine. there is no label on the spine. there is an attractive bookplate under the front and another one under the rear board of T.N. Leslie. there are no inscriptions. the book has age related marking and some offsetting. 2 beautiful fold out maps of the earth and numerous diagrams, obviously well cared for. for its age the book is in very good condition indeed. Signed by Author(s)undated, but appears to be from about 1950. signed by the artist on the title page. large softcover. the glassine wrapper is torn at the back. it is plain glassine and should be easily replaced. the jacket is now protected in cellophane. it has a few tears. the book consists of 13 preliminary pages and 41 numbered plates. there are 14 coloured plates (page 7 has 2 plates on 1 page)28 black and white prints and photos. 1 extra black and white plate. there are no previous owner marks and the plates are all in excellent condition. the plates are tipped on to the numbered backing boards with glue and some of this glue has caused a shadow where it was applied. all plates have hand-written descriptions.. Published between 1975 and 1979.De Luxe edition: 24 volumes, each volume is bound in full blue leather with silver on the covers and maroon leather title labels on the spines,each with the original cellophane dust cover and housed in a matching slip case. 100 sets were produced thus. this is number 34/100. each volume has the limitation page and the same number. a beautifully produced and remarkably attractive set that has not been read . there are only the slightest signs of any wear almost certainly from being moved several times . a very heavy set that will attract extra postage outside of South Africa. Fair. complete 4 volume set in original brown boards. all coloured plates are present as called for. the binding is very poor and will require restoration. that said all boards are present. the spines are cracking on 3 of the books and several of the boards have come loose. the early pages have age related marks and some staining. this does not affect the exquisite plates which are very attractive indeed.there are several previous ownership plates and signatures.. German Text. original binding. raised bands to the spine without a label. old gilt panelled calf over wooden boards. brass center and corner pieces. clasps are present but no closing mechanism. the second front end page has a previous owner's extensive notes in German dated from 1722 to 1735. the book has inscect damage on the boards and many of the pages. this mostly consists of tiny holes. the book is complete with 6 double page maps. one of the continents of the world and the rest cover the holy land, parts of Europe, and a bird's eye view of Jerusalem. the book is divided into 4 parts. the first section is not paginated with 82 pages. there are also sections covering the old testament, new testament and the apocrypha. 476 pages; (2 pages); 462 pages and 352 pages. this is a huge tome that will attract extra postage. the book has age related marks and small tears but is very good for its age. the binding is holding well. the… Leer más
