H. S. Crocker Co. Collectible - Good. Condition: Good +; Hardcover, elephant folio. 19" x 13". King Solomon Edition. Published in a Limited Edition of 550 copies, this is copy #472. Signed by Manly P. Hall on the limitation page. Printed by the H. S. Crocker Co. from plans by John Henry Nash in 1928. Book is printed on Alexander-Japan paper with 54 full color illustrations by J. Augustus Knapp and 200 additional black and white illustrations. Binding has a vellum spine over Batik paper covered boards. The same Batik paper used for endpapers and on slipcase. Leather label on spine. Top edge gilt. The book is in Very Good- condition with a square spine and corners and a tight binding. Clean pages. The bottom of the covers and front fore-edges are rubbed with some loss of paper. Spine label has a 1"x1" chip. Covers show light general wear. Works Publishing Company. Collectible - Very Good. Condition: Very Good; 1943 First Edition Fourth Printing. Sm4to. 400 pages. Full bound dark blue cloth with blind stamped title on front board and fully legible gilt title on spine. Book is clean throughout with some light discoloration on end papers. Previous owners names and provenance of this volume noted on ffep. DJ in surprisingly good shape, a 1-inch and a 1 1/2-inch closed tear on head of spine were repaired with tape some time ago, otherwise only light soiling and mild chipping to extremities due to age. John P. Jewett. Collectible - Very Good. Condition: Very Good; Hardcover, 2 volumes in original brown cloth. 1852. First Edition/First Printing with no printings listed on title pages and the imprint of Hobart & Robbins at the bottom of each copyright page. Gilt vignettes on covers. Both volumes show all the other First Printing points described in BAL. Three plates in each volume. 312 & 322 pages. Both volumes in Very Good condition with clean covers and tight bindings with some fading and rubbing. Volume 2 to appears to have been repaired at the very top of spine. Small water stain on about 10 pages in volume 1 otherwise pages are clean with only slight foxing to some pages. May be some slight toning or finger marks. Slight lean to both volumes. Bookplate in volume 2 and 1 signature in each volume. Please let us know if you would like photos.

Printed and sold at Mrs. Ashburner's China Shop, Yewd's Hat Warehouse, Kirk's Toyshop, Deard's Toyshop, by I. Pottinger, and by J. Williams. Collectible - Acceptable. Condition: Poor to Fair; The first edition, circa 1770. All leaves present! Large dampstain to front board. Light bowing, warping to boards front and back; also rubbing to edges, corners all over. Front hinge separated, held only by the endpapers. Back hinge is cracked along the leather, but holding. Some scuffs, additional dampstain to back cover. Pages age-toned, with finger-smudges throughout. Figures in a contemporary hand on the front pastedown and a faded gift inscription c. 1799 on a blank leaf. Signatures marked B-Z, AA-SS; 304, xvi pg. (final 15 pages are the index).

Published in Berlin by Alexander Kogan Publishing Co, printed by DR Selle. 355 pg folio size: 15+x1 3+x2+. Includes sturdy custom made linen clamshell box with leather spine label. Tissue guards with Kogan Publishing logo printed. Art in delicate greys & tinted inks: within text & on 68 plates, 52 in color. Theatre settings, costumes & portraits. Frontispiece is a portrait of Bakst by Modigliani. Covers/spine are medium brown mottled vellum without soiling, decorative title on front. Tight hinges. Slightly splayed fore-edges from typical tightening over time. End papers: lightweight mustard color, mottled paper; no marks/writing. Front free end paper has minor crease and ripple near spine, caused in binding. Small white spot on the adjacent pasted down end paper; not a puncture. Walter Burre. Collectible - Good. Condition: Good; Hardcover. Bound in full contemporary calf. Five raised bands and black leather label on spine. 4th edition 1628. Engraved title page from 1614 Edition followed by 1628 title page which has the engraved Raleigh portrait used in frontis of other editions. This copy has all 8 double page maps, the last two being battle plans. Maps in good condition. 26 page Chronological table at rear followed by Table of Contents. Bookplate of Sir William Coles Medlycott, Ven House on front pastedown and his signature on first blank page. 1823 inscription on verso of 1614 title page. Also laid in is a copy Sir Walter Raleigh's letter to his wife prior to his execution. The book is in Good condition. Front cover is detached but held on by internal binding tape. Back cover solid. There is some pencil underlining and notating throughout but mostly in first part of text otherwise internal pages in good shape. Chip missing from top of spine. Photos upon request.

John Bell. Collectible - Like New. Condition: Near Fine; 24mo. Contemporary tree calf boards with gilt dentelles and edges, contemporary marbled endpapers; at some point each volume was professionally and neatly rebacked in leather with gilt titles. Illustrated throughout, engraved plates, vignette titles. Outer corners show minor chipping; gilt edges faded on several volumes; gilt dentelles show small patches of wear on some volumes, but generally clean and visible. Internally very clean, no foxing or dust soil. A very attractive copy of one of the foremost 18th-century editions of Shakespeare's works. Hardcover

Folio Society. Collectible - Very Good. Condition: Very Good +; Two volumes. Limited Edition. The Plates volume is an oversized elephant folio in slipcase that is one of only 1000 copies for sale. This is copy #461. 79 incredibly beautiful plates. Bound by Beltz Fine Books it has a Nigerian goatskin leather backstrip over canvas sides blocked with a design by Neil Gower. Printed on Modigliani paper. The book is in Very Good+ condition with clean boards and a tight, square binding. There is a small, neat owner signature on first endpage along with an embossed stamp. The separate, Monograph of the Paradiseidae, or Birds of Paradise, by Sharpe has a matching green binding with mounted title and slipcase. It also has a small embossed owner stamp on front endpage otherwise condition is Fine. The slipcases for both volumes are in Fine condition. Please contact us if you would like photos.

Text accompanied by numerous copper engravings, including 89 plates and 4 illustrated foldout maps, truly stunning. Claude Alexandre de Bonneval is a fascinating figure of French history, friend to Voltaire & Casanova. Spine/extremities are worn, spine is chipped on raised bands and head bands are exposed and loose. Hinges cracked in spots though signatures remain secure, light soiling in spots at hinges. This book is signed by famed Ecuadorian artist Guayasamin with a note of friendship to Paulo Pinheiro on the title page. The catalog contains color plates and black and white examples of his amazing body of work, includes essays by Pablo Neruda, Alexander Eliot, Claude Sabsay, and Leopoldo Zea. Paper is worn and slightly chipped at spine end edges and corner tips. Edges of color plates and a half page of the endpapers are lightly toned. Dust jacket has several chips and small closed tears at spine ends and cover edges, two larger closed tears on front cover at head and tail edge, 2 1/4'' & 1 1/4''. Hardcover

J. B. Lippincott. Collectible - Like New. Condition: Near Fine; 1963, 8vo, 492 pgs. 1st edition, 1st state. Fullbound in purple cloth with blindstamped 'V' decoration to front, silver gilt titles to spine, yellow-orange endpapers. First edition with all points as per APG. First state dustjacket, with no reviews on rear flap. No markings in text, appears almost unread. Boards show minor sunning along top edge and spine, with very minor shelfwear along lower front edge of spine (1/8'') DJ shows very minor shelfwear along front top edge, head spine, front hinges of spine and flap hinges; very small (1/8'') scuff mark to lower corner of front; minor sunning to spine, with titles still fully legible. A clean and bright copy of this scarce 1st title of Pynchon's. Hardcover

TASCHEN. Collectible - Very Good. Condition: Very Good +; Two oversize hardcovers in slipcase, Jazz and Cut-outs. Jazz is a facsimile of the original that was published in 1947, with unbound pages. The pages are printed in 18 colors on Old Mill from Italian paper mill Fedrigoni. The unbound pages are still in shrinkwrap and are protected by a french folded jacket and a hard-backed cover. Cut-outs Drawing With Scissors is 333 pages with many fold-out illustrations. Cut-outs is in Fine flawless condition and Jazz has a minor bump to the fore-edge of the front cover otherwise in Fine condition. The illustrated slipcase is noticably bumped on one edge but is otherwise clean and in excellent condition. Photos upon request.

Delacorte Press/S. Lawrence. Collectible - Very Good. Condition: Very Good; Hardcover in dustjacket. First Edition(stated). Book bound in black cloth with pink star on cover and pink printing on spine. Condition is Very Good in a Very Good dustjacket. Book has clean covers, straight spine and tight binding. Printing on covers bright. Interior pages clean with a hint of soiling to page edges. Bottom corner bumped. The dustjacket is clean and still fairly crisp. $7.95 price on flap. The spine top is a little nicked and there is rubbing along the spine. Short closed tear bottom corner. A clean, tight copy of this scarce First Edition. Photos upon request.

Milkweed Editions. Collectible - Like New. Condition: Near Fine; Oblong Folio. A collection of cream-colored broadsides in a dark blue cloth fall-down-back box, with gilt titling on front cover. Text by Patricia Hampl, accompanied by original engravings by artist Steven Sorman. This is copy 135 of a numbered LIMITED EDITION of 150, SIGNED by both Hampl and Sorman on the copyright broadside. The broadside are gorgeous and in excellent condition. The box has a faint stain of fabric glue along the front hinge, else fine. This remains yet another exquisite, fine creation by Milkweed Editions. Unknown Binding

Full-bound in brown leather with four raised bands, gilt accents, black leather title label and gilt-stamped titling on the spine. Front joint and hinge are starting but board is still attached; barely starting on head of rear joint. Book has wear and rubbing to leather on spine, spine ends, and board extremities. Dust soiling to text block. A couple spots of damp staining to endpapers, and interior pages are foxed throughout; else pages are bright and clean.
