London: John Murray, 1869. Fifth (Tenth Thousand). Good. Considered one of the most important books every published, any edition (there were six) of The Origin of Species that was published during Darwin's lifetime (he died in 1882) is exceptionally sought after, since the print runs were relatively small for such a significant work Only 10,000 copies were printed cumulatively through this fifth edition (which was for only 2,000 copies) This copy was custom bound in full leather with gilt tooling, but the spine and front board are loose and the back board has detached But the hinge breaks are clean and should be repairable The text block is very sound however, and except for the hinge detachments, the leather binding is in relatively good condition There is modest foxing on the ffeps, but otherwise the contents are in very good condition with only minor age toning The edges are marbled, as are the endpapers.

All My Children was one of the most popular daytime "soap operas" of all time and ran for 41 years, from 1970 to 2011 One of its main characters, Erica Kane, portrayed by Susan Lucci, became well known even beyond the show's base audience In 1995, the show held a 25th anniversary celebration, which was attended by most of the many actors and production team, as well as many of the celebrity guests who had appeared over the years This book was published in recognition of that anniversary This book's original owner, named Thomas, attended that celebration, (his ticket in laid in the book) and he apparently spent most of his time circulating the crowd and collecting autographs in this book By my count, there are at least 65 signatures, many of them personalized to Thomas In addition to most of the primary cast members (yes, including Susan Lucci), it's been… Leer más

A near fine copy of this French translation of one of Neruda's best known volumes of poetry In black and red printed wrappers It is inscribed by Neruda himself on the page opposite to the title page "a Sheila mi amigo, Pablo Neruda, Paris 1971" The date coincides with Neruda's time as Chile's ambassador to France Ricardo Eliécer Neftalí Reyes Basoalto (1904 â€" 1973), better known by his pen name and, later, legal name Pablo Neruda, was a Chilean poet-diplomat and politician who won the Nobel Prize for Literature in 1971 He occupied many diplomatic positions in various countries during his lifetime He was a close advisor to Chile's President Salvador Allende, and, when he got back to Chile after accepting his Nobel Prize in Stockholm, Allende invited him to read at the Estadio Nacional before 70,000 people He is arguably the best known poet in all of Latin America 228 pp.

Very Good+. 3 volumes li, 411; viii, 472; viii, 574 pp plus [6] pp Catalogue of Books Written by Dr Priestley 9 folding engraved plates, plate 1 forming frontis to Vol 1 (8vo) 20x12 cm (8x5"), bound in modern brown cloth, gilt spines First Collected Edition (Crook 461-63) These are all six volumes of text revised, amended, and abridged of Priestley's experiments with gases and the account of the discovery of oxygen, supplemented by the later work that Priestley published in journals All volumes are quite sound with the modern rebinding There is slight foxing on the plates but the text overall is very clean and unmarked, especially when considering their age Crook indicates the plates were 2 in Vol 1 (including the frontispiece) and 7 in Vol 3 In this set all 9 plates are bound in Vol 1, which is not uncommon .
