Considerable wear to boards of both volumes but all hinges are secure with all pages tight and foldout illustrations complete. 4to. 26 x 21 cm. A former owner's plates inside both front boards and another's signature on both title pages, dated 1777. Small corner tear to ffl of Vol 1. Newcastle: Frank Graham, 1968. First Thus . Cloth. Good. Atlas Folio - over 23 - 25" tall. Limited edition of 500 copies of a facsimile of the original 1685 edition containing 36 maps. Slight warping to most pages at spine edge but this does not affect any of the maps and may be a production fault as there is no sign of water damage to the binding although there is some marking and very minor damage to the red cloth-covered boards. Some marking and bumping to brown card boards and the leather corners are largely missing. The book has been rebound and the hinges and spine leather are in excellent condition. South Shields: W J Potts, 1897. Half-Leather. Good/No Jacket. Ex-library with usual markings. Rebound in 1970 in fine black half-leather and blue boards with gilt lettering on spine stating that this dates from c1898. It seems likely that this is the 5th edition, dating from 1897.
