Doubleday, Page & Co, Garden City, NY. 1927. Hardcover in first state dust jacket. First Edition stated on copyright page, 1927 on title page. Black boards with orange paper labels at front and spine. A few light stains to boards. Faded topstain. Unclipped dust jacket ("two dollars net") has some losses along top, head and heel of spine and at corners, a 2" closed tear, stains (see photo). Brodart sleeved. Very Good+/Good. Scarce in jacket. 196 pp.

New York: Cross Publications, 1945. Distributed by Garden City Books, Garden City NY. First edition (not stated). Fair. Oblong, 8 1/4"x10". Front board coming loose but holding and secure. Paper worn off spine in front. Moderate edgewear to red/orange boards. Color illustrated pastedowns. Looks like ffep (illustrated on recto to match pastedown) has been removed, a child's pencil scribbles on a few pages including some illustrated ones.

Irish Museum of Modern Art, 2010. Catalogue for exhibition March 31 - June 27, 2010. NEAR FINE, very light cosmetic issues to wraps, interior clean and lightly read. Illustrated throughout in color and b&w. Excellent resource. Oversize, shipping may be extra. 319 pp.

New York, NY: Maxton Publishers. Copyright 1950 on title page, 1st American edition (First edition UK 1939). Produced by Spring House, Springfield, Mass. Spiral-bound softcover, oblong format. Clean and unmarked with only light wear at wrapper extremities, interior is excellent with absolutely no issues including all five working POP-UPs in tip top condition. A little flaring to wraps. Interior is FINE, wraps VG++. Illustrations and Pop-Ups by Marion Guild. 19 unnumbered pages.

Simon and Schuster. 1970 First edition, stated First printing. Hardcover in dust jacket. Purple cloth paper covered boards with author signature stamped on front. Minor bump head of spine. Inscription first blank page, no other markings. A few spots outer textblock edge. Price intact ($3.95) jacket has 1/2" closed tear and bump head of spine, now covered in archival Brodart sleeve. VG/VG. 141 pp.

FINE/VERY GOOD. Light page tanning otherwise an excellent presumed First edition (not stated) with no apparent issues. DJ with light edge wear. 191 pp. Don Simpson illustrations on last page and the dustjacket.

Boston, MA: Little, Brown & Co. 1951. Outstanding copy, appears unread. Gilt lettering and decoration on spine bright and vibrant, not faded at all. No creasing to pages which are also bright and white, including endpapers and pastedowns. Listing as Near Fine rather than Fine only because minor rubs and scuffs to black cloth boards. Deckled fore and foot edges. Book Club Edition indicated by "pencil point" indentation lower rear board near spine. "Copyright 1945, 1946, 1951 by J.D. Salinger" with a lone "W" below, followed by "Published simultaneously in Canada by McClelland and Stewart Limited" and "Printed in the United States of America" - only printing indications. DJ not present. Again, a beautiful copy of this collectible classic. 277 pp.

Fifth Edition, 1731. Bernard Lintot, London, U.K. VERY GOOD+ condition. Full brown calf binding, 5 raised bands to spine. Handful of dings/abrasions/scratches to boards, small stain front board. Illustrated throughout with full page and smaller engraved illustrations, decorations, including 6 full page consecutive at rear after the Index. Minimal marks to front pastedown otherwise unmarked. "Kings Heathen Gods" in gilt on red at spine. 16mo (6 3/4" x 4 1/4"). Nice for a 300 year old book! 222 numbered pages.

Gilbert" (John Hoagland was an experienced American photojournalist and war correspondent for Newsweek from San Diego, California, who was covering the Salvadoran Civil War in El Salvador at the time he was killed. He had covered other conflicts, including those in Nicaragua and Lebanon). Tight, no markings. Unclipped ($3.75) mylar protected Dust Jacket edge worn with chips, rubbing. VG+/VG+. SIGNED/Inscribed by Rattner on half-title page. 212 illustrations, 50 tipped-in color plates. Red cloth boards with silver lettering front and spine. Dust jacket, enclosed in plastic, has only minor wear. Author Allen Leepa, longtime friend and himself a painter, quotes generously from Rattner's unpublished notebooks and taped interviews with the artist. 235 pp.
