Leeuwarden:: Francois Halma,, 1718.. Very rare. From the second, enlarged edition, as the first edition (1698) was published in only 125 copies.. 28 x 45cm. Single leaf.. Francois Halma, ed. Title page. Trimmed just outside the borders. Appears to be a title page pre-publishing (?), with small map, coat of arms, and title tablet excised, replaced with contemporary notes in ÒWillem HenskesÓ hand (?). Mounted at corners on larger plain leaf, suitable for framing, or to match with another copy. From the famous Friesland Atlas, the first atlas of the Dutch province of Friesland. Beautiful allegorical frontispiece (first appearance in this edition), engraved by Jacob Folkema after a drawing by artist Gerbrandus van der Haven and especially after the poet Johannes… Leer más
