Gummow & Co was the firm responsible for the construction of the bridge. Other photographs include the Pipe Factory at Geelong and samples of the Sewer pipes as well as Whites Creek Aqueduct in NSW. John Monash may have had little to do with this bridge but Monash & Anderson acted as local representatives of Carter Gummow.

Vol 1 - 306pp. Vol 2 - 324pp. Engraved title pages, 2 engraved vignettes, copper engraved plates all present (111 collated total with CIX numbered on last plate) A very good hansome set bound in half calf & brown cloth. Spine has raised bands with maroon & gilt title bands. Front board of vol 2. is very slightly bowed with white flecking on the tail corner. New endpapers. Contents are age spotted with some offsetting of plates.. The majority of plates are engraved on copper by P. Mazell. .

R.B. Bate, London. 1847. 8vo. 228pp. A good copy bound in full leather. Lacking the gilt title on the spine. Spine worn at edges with top of spine chipped and hinge split. The book is inscribed by the author to Captain Washington. It also has the bookplate of Francis Abbott.. Admiral Sir Charles Shadwell (1814-1886) was a Royal Navy officer who went on to be Commander-in Chief, China Station. This book given by Shadwell to Captain Washington in 1861 while Shadwell was commanding the HMS Aboukir. Bookplate from the library of Francis Abbott, Private Observatory, Hobart Town. Abbott (1799-1883), a convict who arrived in Hobart in 1845, and went on to be one of the leading astonomers in Australia, collected a large philosophical and scientific library. Many of his scientific instruments were bought by the Melbourne observatory. .

Edward Gordon Craig at the Sign of the Rose, Hackbridge. 1899. 4to, unpaginated. A good paperback copy with decorated brown paper covers. Includes several original woodcuts by Craig with some off setting. Covers rubbed and edges worn with a few small tears, especially where the cover overlap the pages. Back cover creased with one small tear that is not restricted to the overlapping section. Contains a few loose contemporary advertisments for other Gordon Craig items.. Limited edition. No. 229 of 400.

Previous owner's stamp on half-title page. 30pp affected by dark ink(?) stain to top corner. This stain has not reached the text or plates. Small closed tears. . Also has 20 pages of Thomas Rose's Westmoreland, Cumberland bound at the end.
