I acquired this book and shortly thereafter Clancy was in Chicago for signing Red Rabbit. I stood in line with about 10 or 12 books for his signature for about 2 hours when they announced a limit of 5 books to sign due to the line of people. Then, his sharpie leaked on his hands and I was finally able to reach him. The lady who was readying the books for Clancy dismissed my books as they were not Red Rabbit. He noticed and said he would sign them anyway. The first was this book and he said he didn't want to see it on EBay. Writing First Printing and his signature, he asked which book of his was my favorite. I replied Without Remorse and he agreed.Quarter inch closed tear to upper top edge of jacket, otherwise fine with fine book with slight color loss to bottom edge of boards.

Color loss to top and bottom of spine of Dust Jacket. Very scarce in this condition. Maybe read once. Owners stamp on fep.

One plate without the McClurg Title Page, thus printed just after the McClurg edition (scarce). A rare example in this condition. Maybe read once. Tarzan and the Ant Men is the tenth book in Edgar Rice Burroughs' series of novels about the jungle hero Tarzan. It was first published as a seven-part serial in the magazine Argosy All-Story Weekly for February 2, 9, 16, and 23 and March 1, 8, and 15, 1924. It was first published in book form in hardcover by A. C. McClurg in September, 1924. The story was also adapted for Gold Key Comics in Tarzan #174-175 (1968). In the book Master of Adventure: The Worlds of Edgar Rice Burroughs, Richard A. Lupoff places Tarzan and the Ant Men in his list of essential Burroughs novels and states that it represents Burroughs at the peak of his creative powers.

Boards are in very good condition with minor edge wear and fading. Webbing to front and rear hindge, otherwise binding is square and sound. Internally very clean. Comes in facsimile dust jacket produced by the Burroughs' company. All things considered, a sound copy of this scarce western title.
