NY: The Museum of Modern Art, 1974. Hardcover. Near fine/No DJ. 10.5 x 9.7". 1 12 volume set in Near Fine condition. Previous owner's signature on volume 1, on ffep. Otherwise these books are umarked andin near fine condition. Beautifully illustrated with photos (many of them in color) of original art works.

Very Good/No DJ. 4.75 x 7.4". 2 Two hardcover volumes, bound in half calf leather over marbled boards (brown and tan) with burgundy and gold detail. Marbling (brown and tan) is repeated on inside covers and free end papers. Covers of both books in very good condition, with light edge and surface wear. Spines have gild lettering, symbols and raised bands separating the 6 sections. Joints and bindings are structurally very good, with some stress to the paper of the interior joints. Clean pages, lightly tanned- Top edges gilt. I grade these as in Very Good condition.

Like New/Slipcase VG, DJ also VG. 10.5 x 8.75". 1 First Edition Hardcover in Like New condition, with Very Good dust jacket and Very Good Slipcase. A book commissioned and published by the HongkongBank to commemorate the official opening of its new headquarters on One Queen's Road Central on April 7, 1986. Printed in Hong Kong by South China Printing Company. An interesting history of the bank and the architectural history of the 4 buildings that have occupied the headquarters site, culminating in the architectural feat of the newest headquarters building. Beautifully illustrated and photographed.

Toronto: The Ryerson Press, 1946. First Edition. Hardcover. Very Good/Good. 5.9 x 8.5". First Printing 1 Hardcover in Very Good condition with Fair/Good dust jacket. Red cloth boards with gild lettering and design on front and spine. A couple of corners lightly bumped, else minimal edge or surface wear. Joints and binding very good. Pages clean and lightly tanned. One ffep has been clipped, probably removing a previous owner's name. Othherwise interior is as new. Heavily illustrated with photos of the artist's works- 5 Color plates including the frontispiece are a highlight. This biography is a nice read that will make you want to see more of this artist's work. Apparent first printing, dated July 1946. George Agnew Reid (1860-1947) was a Canadian artist, architect, educator and administrator influential in the early 20th century and instrumental in the formation of a number of important Canadian art institutions.

Slipcase in fair condition with rubbing and minor edge wear, including bumped corners. Each volume is beige cloth boards with gild design and writing on front and white lettering on black and grey plaque on spine. Volume 3 has some staining on front cover. Joints and binding very good. Pages clean, very lightly tanned. Rough cut fore edges.

106 and 108 Reade Street, NY: F.M. Lupton, Publisher, c.1890. Hardcover. Fair/Good/No DJ. 6 x 8.6". 1 Hardcover in Fair/Good condition; no dust jacket. Front cover title in black lettering or outline design is The Works of W.M. Thackeray on Burgundy cloth. Spine says Vanity Fair in gild letteiring, along with black lettering saying Thackeray's Works. Title page is as stated in listing. No publishing or copyright date provided, but Lupton publishing operated at the Reade Street address from around 1890-1892. This volume is probably from a set- I have found the same design of another Thackeray title on one online platform. This hardcover has bumped corners, head and tail, and minimal edge wear otherwise. Surfaces are mostly clean and not dulled. Joints and binding are very good. The 466 pages are clean if heavily tanned. This volume may complete a set or stand alone as a reasonable example of c. 1890 antiquarian reprint of a classic author.

The Terry Library was a rich collection, and the narrative of it's dispersal here makes for it's own fascinating reading. The descriptions alone are worth the journey. Chicago: Reilly & Lee Co., 1931. First Edition. Hardcover. Fair/Poor/Fair. 5.5 x 8.5". 3 Three hardcovers in Fair condition, Dust jackets in fair to poor condition. This lot all examples of the work of Tony Wons work on the radio on the Columbia Broadcasting System between 1929 and 1932. These books are part of a larger series. Hardcovers feature boards in good condition with minimal edge or surface wear. Joints and bindings are good. Interiors are fair with poor paper stock used and moderate to heavy tanning, along with some foxing. Dust jackets are in rough shape, especially for the R You Listening volume (this one being held together with tape). DJ's are heavily soiled with moderate to heavy wear. Photos show the difference in condition of the book versus the dust jacket.
