Ownership marks of W. Green on title pages, dated 1827. Published a year after his A History of Medicine, The Book of Nature provides in-depth study of the anatomy and physiology of plants and animals, before discussing such varied topics as sleep and dreaming, voice and language, and happiness. Earlier in the century Good had published a translation of Lucretius's The Nature of Things.
Condition: Light rubbing at extremities, some scuffing, scratches and abrasions to calf; a few starting hinges although thongs are holding nicely, light foxing largely to endpapers; very good.
