Ffep missing. List of titles cut from dj (not this one) is pasted onto front fixed endpaper. Former owner's name in pencil. Corners sl bumped, a little dingy. Very good in dust jacket with a little edgewear, small chips at corners, a few tiny edgetears. Really, a lovely copy

London: James Hodges, 1740. 2nd Edition . Hardcover. Good. 2nd edition. 324pp plus index. Brown leather. Damage to the title page where 4 small bits appear to be cut out. General wear, foxing, ink notations on ffep. Corners frayed, cover scuffed. Edges of endpapers darkened, it looks like it's from the glue they were originally attached with.

Owego: A P Searing, 1834. Hardcover. Good. 8vo - over 7¾ - 9¾" tall. Brown cloth, the "cheap edition." Corners, extremities worn, with some fraying. Front hinge cracked about 2" at top. Former owner's name in ink ffep, some penciled math on fixed front ep.Some light staining. Text block is tight and secure. Good. Scarce.

Oberlin, Ohio: The News Printing Company, 1902. Hardcover. Very Good. 8vo - over 7¾ - 9¾" tall. Red cloth with gilt lettering. Flowered endpapers. Corners bumped, a little browning at page edges, very good+. The author collected essays from various women about ways women can earn a living. Some are positive, some quite negative, one at least is downright opposed to women working. There are photos of many, but not all of the women. It's rather depressing to read through, what with all the china painting and dressmaking and similar suggestions. We've come a long way, baby. Very Ohio-centric, with one piece written by Corinna Parker from Tiffin, with tales of successful women. The first woman lawyer, by the way, was from Tiffin. A beautiful copy of a scarce book.
