Descripción:
Boston: Little Brown, 1996. First Edition. Hardcover. Fine/Fine. Thick 8vo. 1,079 pp. First issue of Foster Wallace's magnum opus, widely considered a post-modern masterpiece, with $29.95 dust jacket price and with incorrect spelling of William Vollmann [misspelled as "Vollman"] on the rear dust jacket panel. A sharp copy. In 2004, author Chad Harbach declared that, in retrospect, Infinite Jest "now looks like the central American novel of the past thirty years, a dense star for lesser work to orbit." In a 2008 retrospective by The New York Times, Infinite Jest was described as "a masterpiece that is also a monster - nearly 1,100 pages of mind-blowing inventiveness and disarming sweetness. Its size and complexity make it forbidding and esoteric." Time Magazine included the novel in its list of the 100 best English-language novels published since 1923.

New York: Leo Castelli/Committee Against the War in Vietnam, 1969. Softcover. Very Good with a few pinholes and very small stains.. 22 1/2" x 29." Four color offset lithograph poster. Commissioned by Leo Castelli. Published by the Committee Against the War in Vietnam. This work remains one of the most captivating and powerful images of the anti-Vietnam war movement. The image was commissioned to commemorate the anti-war Moratorium Marches that occurred in the fall of 1969 throughout the US. This work symbolizes the horrors of the Vietnam war; from the Agent Orange-esque coloring of the stars, to the deathly green Army camouflage of the stripes, to the singular white bullet hole in the center. Initially a patriotic image, this work subverts the power of the American government and encapsulates the political feelings of the time. Additionally, this work shows Jasper JohnÕs fixture and exploration of optical illusions. By focusing on the center white dot for 60 seconds and then looking away at a blank…

New York: Random House, 1971. First Edition. Hardcover. Fine/Very Good. Near fine with some very light foxing along the top edge in a near fine dust jacket with a small amount of damp staining at the base of the spine not affecting the book. Originally, in articles in Rolling Stone, Hunter Thompson wrote as a journalist covering the Drug Enforcement Convention in Las Vegas while stoned and observing that strange world from the perspective while a user of illegal drugs with credentials of a journalist. The work is Thompson's most famous, and is noted for its lurid descriptions of illegal drug use, its early retrospective on the culture of the 1960s, and its popularization of Thompson's highly subjective blend of fact and fiction that has become known as gonzo journalism.

NP: Knights of the Ku Klux Klan, Inc, 1924. Softcover. Very Good in lightly soiled wraps and with covers slightly pulled away from staples. Very scarce report of the second Klonvokation, which was held every two years. It was reported that there were 2,000 men and 3,000 concomitants present at the Kansas City meeting, which was held at the Kansas City Convention Center. Its meetings were held behind closed doors and a card and a password were necessary to gain admittance. Only Klansmen with courtesy cards were allowed to view the proceedings. What was published about the proceedings came through the Klan publicity office. The meeting was opened by the Grand Dragon of Nebraska. The Imperial Wizard, Dr. Hiram Wesley Evans of Atlanta delivered a message to the Klonvocation on the state of the Empire: "This Klonvocation, held here in the great Middle West, is assembled on the battlefield of the immediate future...some of the Eastern states are today lost to true Americanism and must be rewon; but the…

Very Good in brown and red boards in a Fair dust jacket that has chipping along the spine, and top of the front and back panel.. 4to 10 1/4" x 7 1/2." 140 pp. Second edition of the revised and expanded version of The Disappearing City, which was originally published in 1932. Inscribed and signed on the title page: "To Sally Jane Smith/on her graduation day/Frank Lloyd Wright." Original $4.00 price on top of front flap. When Democracy Builds was revised by Wright after he found himself agreeing with the very harsh criticism of the original edition. Here, Wright strikes at absurdities of centralization and its feudal economy. With persuasive brilliance he shows how we can build a real democracy which begins with the individual home and its acre.
