Kathleen Tankersley Young is one of the great ghosts of modernist literature, a poet and editor thoroughly engrossed in the most exciting stylistic currents of the time, influential in shaping publications and poets alike, and yet almost entirely forgotten after her tragic death in 1933, just shy of her thirtieth birthday. This volume offers the first comprehensive volume of her poetry and short fiction, including all three of the books she published during her lifetime—Ten Poems, The Dark Land, and The Pepper Trees—along with the vast majority of her published works, recovered from magazines large and small, and a selection of nearly forty previously unpublished works. Edited by Erik La Prade and Joshua Rothes, this volume seeks to reintroduce Young as an indispensable poet of mid-period American modernism.

A computational mistranslation of mid-twentieth century Fascist architectural writing, Rationalism engages how fascist principles, long-since published, reverberate in similar expressions of contemporary rhetoric, investigating figurative and physical constructs as mechanisms of isolation and containment built into language. In early twentieth century Spain, the dominant literary currents of the day were divided between a push for a spartan, utilitarian prose and a retreat to the well-worn stylings of "old masters". But there was an intrepid group of writers, artists, and thinkers concerned with a new linguistic vitality, incorporating the latest scientific knowledge while rising above mere functionalism. Taking his cues from Ramón Gómez de la Serna, Charlie Chaplin, and his mentor, José Ortega y Gasset, Benjamín Jarnés distilled these ideas into a series of short prose pieces dubbed Exercises (Ejercicios, 1927), in which he advocated for a language rife with"metaphorical fireworks", a prose that eschews what we might call today "craft" for a fecundity of descriptive flourishes, logical leaps (that don't always connect), and a brash disregard for all schools and techniques.

Max Blecher (September, 8 1909 – May, 31 1938) was a Romanian writer.
