A beautiful book containing illustrations by David Hockney accompanied by a commissioned poem by David Posner. Errata slip inserted. Bound in black cloth with grey title on the front board, and a black plastic gripper strip on the spine. Minimal external wear. A little previous owner sticker inside the front (Jack Pritchard, Isokon). Pages smooth, clean and unmarked. Just beginning to age-tone at the edges. May incur additional postage charges overseas.

London: Faber and Faber, 1989. 1st Edition . Hardcover. Fine/Nr Fine. 8vo - over 7¾ - 9¾" tall. Glossy illustrated dust-jacket, unmarked but very lightly sunned along the spine. Book bound in black cloth with white titles, in mint condition with signature only to the title page. A beautifully preserved book. With a Waterstones "Signed First Edition" wrap around inserted.

London: John Windet, 1601. 1st Edition . Soft cover. Good/No Jacket. 16mo - over 5¾ - 6¾" tall. Crude original leather/calf-cover with the remains of a hand-written title just visible along the spine. Pages are darkened, fragile, but none are loose. Text still entirely legible. Fold out chart " The analysis of Resolution of the Booke of Ruth". Title page and rear pages appear to have been backed/fortified, but a long time ago. Page 131 is missing, but replaced with a very neatly hand-written page with presumably the missing text. The continued sub-title reads "Verie profitable for this present time of dearth, wherein many are most pitifully tormented with want, and also worthy to bee considered in this Golden age of the preaching of the word, when some vomit up the loath tomnes ther-of, and others fall away to damnnable security." A very scarce, fragile but intriguing volume...

London: Grant Richards, 1902. 1st Edition . Hardcover. Good/No Jacket. 8vo - over 7¾ - 9¾" tall. W. Heath Robinson. Illustrated cloth covered board binding with dark green/blue background, colours predominantly red green and cream. Some rubbing to spine, title no longer visible but front and back boards clean and bright. Light wear at spine ends. Text block sound, no inscriptions, beginning to split along front and rear hinges after the illustrated end papers which are intact along the join. Beautiful bright frontispiece. A few light brown marks to the title page opposite thereafter pages generally smooth and clean and clear of foxing, though one or two rogue marks here and there. Abundantly illustrated with plates and drawings in and around the text. A very nice, well preserved copy.

London: Nonesuch Press, 1926. Limited Edition . Hardcover. Very Good/No Jacket. Limited Edition of 1450, this numbered 1350. Two volume set bound with vellum over the spines with gilt titles and brown patterned paper covered boards. There is some discoloration to the vellum spines with some blemishes, some light edge-wear to the boards but they remain attractive and square. No markings or inscriptions, small prvious owner label on the inside bottom corner of each (Jack Pritchard, Isokon). Rough cut page edges browned. Hinges tight and square, no spotting or foxing. Illustrations by William Blake. A very nice set.

Books identically bound with green leather over the spines and corners, green cloth covered boards. 5 raised bands along spines with gilt titles and decorations in compartments. Brand new book, still in publisher's shrink-wrap, so unable to know which printing. Beautifully illustrated brown cloth binding and book itself unmarked, unused, in fine condition. Original dust-jaket designed by Richard Inglis & Associates, very light shelf-wear, no tears, not price-clipped. Book bound in grey cloth with title in gilt lettering o the sine, clean and bright, a tiny bump to the top corner tip. Internally unmarked, appearing unused, a beautifully preserved copy of this scarce book.

London: Frederick Warne & Co. Ltd, 1899. 1st Edition . Hardcover. Very Good/No Jacket. 8vo - over 7¾ - 9¾" tall. Undated, circa 1899. Volume VI is entitled "The British Grasses, Sedges, Ferns and their Allies The Club Mosses, Pepperworts, and Horsetails". This set has been carefully and professionally rebound with brown calf over the spines with three raised bands and gilt titles, beige marble paper covered boards. It also has new, plain green end papers. The contents of the books are original and complete, abundantly illustrated with full page full colour plates. Some light foxing to the original end papers, title pages and frontispieces, thereafter text pages and illustrations smooth clean and bright. A faded ink previous owner name written at the top of the title page to each volume. A beautifully preserved set.

Denmark: Copenhagen, 1940. 1st Edition . Hardcover. Very Good/No Jacket. Folio - over 12 - 15" tall. Five volumes published between 1935 - 1040. Volume V has Index and Bibliography at the end, so complete. Bound in green cloth with black leather title plates o spines with gilt titles, Volume V has piece of this missing. Very tidy, one or two minor blemishes. Hinges tight, more recent end papers professionally executed. Pages smooth, clean, no spotting or foxing. Abundant coloured plates with supporting text in English language. A very beautiful, well preserved set of books. May incur additional postage charges overseas.

Glossy cream dust-jacket with black titles, not price-clipped, a little sunned along for-edge, very light wear at spine ends, now in clear protective cover. Identical glazed board binding, scattering of tiny spots along upper closed page edge. One or two light brown spots to rear end papers thereafter internally unmarked, no inscriptions, as new.

U.K.: Puffin Books, 1981. Soft cover. Very Good/No Jacket. 12mo - over 6¾ - 7¾" tall. Nancy Ekholm Burkert. This book is inscribed "To Jeremy" and signed by Roald Dahl opposite the title page. Illustrated card covers and contents very clean, undamaged and carefully preserved. The pages are yellowed but appear unread. There is a small carefully inked note on the first page dated 1981 "The Randolph, Oxford, part of birthday money".

London: Ward, Lock & Co., Limited. Hardcover. Very Good/Fair. 8vo - over 7¾ - 9¾" tall. Margaret W. Tarrant. Undated, circa 1925. Original illustrated dust-jacket, not price-clipped (12/6 Net) some loss at spine ends, further chips and creases and tears, now neat and stable inside clear protective cover. Book bound in sage-green cloth with black titles and decorations and with an oval shaped illustration pasted centrally on the front. Hinge and text block firm, neat little ink inscription on the verso of the front end paper. Beautifully illustrated end papers. The text pages and closed page edges have some brown spotting, however the 48 coloured plates by Margaret Tarrant are clean, smooth, clear of spotting.

London: Jonathan Cape Ltd, 1970. 1st Edition . Hardcover. Very Good/Very Good. 8vo - over 7¾ - 9¾" tall. Bright, un-clipped dust-jacket, a little chipped at spine ends but very tidy having been kept in clear protective cover. Book bound in yellow cloth, title in black on the spine. Contents unmarked, no foxing or spotting, pages smooth and clean, though closed page edge browned. Pocket at rear of book contains fold out Headopoly poster game, which appears to have never been unfolded or used. An extremely good copy of a fairly scarce book.

Oscar Riera Ojeda Publishers, 2013. Limited Edition . Hardcover. New/New. 4to - over 9¾" - 12" Tall Landscape. This is an unopened book, still in publisher's slipcase. Information on leaflet inserted : "This Premium Edition of Contemporanea is limited to frty sets and it is presented in a clamshell box. It includes a hardcover copy of the book, an envelope with five signed photographic prints by Giovanni Presutti and certificate of authenticity". There is a scattering of light age-spots to the sides of the clamshell box.

With 36 plates and 11 maps. Identically bound in green cloth with gilt titles on the spines, minor rubbing and the odd blemish but remaining tidy and robust. Hinges are firm, Volume III has some loose pages. Brown end papers with publisher advertising. Very little spotting, no inscriptions. Beautiful coloured illustrations with tissue-guards, fold-out maps. This is a well preserved set. May incur additional postage charges, especially overseas.

Paris: Anthoine Bertier, 1642. 1st Edition . Hardcover. Good/No Jacket. 8vo - over 7¾ - 9¾" tall. Text in French Language. Bound in brown leather, 5 raised bands along spine with gilt title on leather title plate. Scuffed, edge-worn but remaining robust and neat. Hinge sound, though front free end paper is becoming loose. Plain paper paste down of Benedictines of our Lady of Angeles to front end paper and an inscription daed 1686. Pages smooth, clean, one or two pencilled lines in margins from long ago. Some very light foxing, text a little blurry but completely legible. May incur additional postage charges overseas.
