An important source of information on the secession of lands by the Creek Indians in Georgia, including memorials, documents, correspondence, and testimony of participants, from 1823 - 1827. This book came from the library of former Creek Indian Chief W.E. "Dode" Mcintosh. Also laid in: stapled pamplet (9pgs) "Georgia's Landmarks, Memorials and Legends" The pamplet only contains Chapter XXXV (McIntosh Rock: Where the Most Famous of Georgia Treaties was made with the Creeks). This work was put together for the state of Oklahoma for determining a policy for loaning school funds on indian lands. Includes text concerning legal decisions under laws of the Seminole, Cherokee, Creek, Choctaw and Chickasaw tribes. This was to be used by attorneys for reference in such cases. Also includes charts designed to be a quick reference for determing legal rights for each tribe. Factors involved in the charts are indian quantum of blood, adult/minor, allotment type. 13pg. A very scarce document. In excellent condition considering it's age & reference ability. Also has a Osage Tribal Council Newsletter dated May 19, 1967 laid in.
