A collection of works by American contemporary artists, presenting 30 works in a variety of media and paper; prints, multiples and photographs. The portfolio is a collaboration by the Moderna Museet in Stockholm and the New York-based group Experiments in Art and Technology (E.A.T.) it was published in 1973 in a limited numbered edition of 300 copies. It includes the following artists: Lee Bontecou, Robert Breer, John Chamberlain, Walter de Maria, Jim Dine, Mark di Suvero, Oivind Fahlstrom, Dan Flavin, Red Grooms, Hans Haacke, Alex Hay, Donald Judd, Ellsworth Kelly, Sol LeWitt, Roy Lichtenstein, Robert Morris, Louise Nevelson, Kenneth Noland, Claes Oldenburg, Nam June Paik, Robert Rauschenberg, Larry Rivers, James Rosenquist, George Segal, Richard Serra, Keith Sonnier, Richard Stankiewicz, Cy Twombly, Andy Warhol and Robert Whitman. Paris, Éditions de l'atelier Crommelynck, 1971. La tragicomedia de Calisto y Melibea, known as La Celestina, novel attributed to Fernando de Rojas published in 1499, illustrated by Picasso with 66 etchings with aquatints, dated in plate, between April 11 and August 19 1968, unsigned. The etchings done for la Celestine are part of the 347 series, Picasso worked to the etchings almost daily with Aldo and Pietro Crommelynck, at their atelier in Mougins, using different techniques. After the impressions were pulled, 66 etchings were chosen by Picasso to illustrate La Celestine. The character of La Celestine was first portrayed by Picasso on a painting in 1903. Limited numbered editions in 400 copies on Richard de Bas laid paper, watermarked La Celestine. Copy n 48 signed on justification page by Picasso in pencil. Bound in parchment board, protective jacket and slipcase. Ref: Cramer 149. Complete and in very good condition.

Max Jacob. Illustrated with three cubist etchings by Picasso, in full page, from 1913. Max Jacob three-act play reflect the author mystic quest and his research into the cabala and astrology, Picasso completed the illustrations during the winter of 1913/14 making three etchings and dry points, one for each act, to which he gave the titles: Femme Nue (plate 1) Nature Morte au Crâne (plate 2) and Femme (plate 3). This book is second illustrated book published by Daniel-Henry Kahnweiler, created in collaboration with Picasso. Signed by the Picasso and Jacob in the justification page and marked as number "40" of 85 copies on "Holland van Gelder" (total edition 106 copies). The book is complete, in the original glassine, light offsetting is present in the text page near the first illustration. Ref Cramer #3. Very good conditions.

The complete portfolio published in 1971 by Erker-Presse. This portfolio includes 22 poems by Jean Cassou in facsimile which he wrote while he was a prisoner of war during WWII. The poems are accompanied with 22 lithographs and etchings by Max Bill, Alexander Calder, Giuseppe Capogrossi, Marc Chagall, Otto Dix, Piero Dorazio, Max Ernst, Etienne Hajdu, Hans Hartung, Wifredo Lam, Andre Masson, Joan Miro,Ernst Wilhelm Nay, Serge Poliakoff, Giuseppe Santomaso, Pierre Soulages, Dorothea Tanning, Antoni Tapies, Mark Tobey, Maria Helena Vieira da Silva, Fritz Wotruba und Ossip Zadkine. All of the prints besides the Chagall one are signed and numbered by the artists. This edition is limited to 115 copies and is loose as issued in chemise and slipcase.

La Magie Quotidienne. Picasso, Miró, Giacometti, Braque, Zao wou-ki. The complete portfolio, published by Louis Broder, Paris, 1968. The portfolio is one of the 15 copies numbered in Roman numbers, printed on Japan paper, from a total edition of 120. It includes six etchings, of which three in colors, two woodcuts, of which one in colors, and one lithograph in colors. Seven prints are signed in pencil, all nine prints are numbered VI/XV. The original prints are from the following artists: Jean Arp, Georges Braque, Alberto Giacometti (two prints), Andre Masson, Joan Miró, Pablo Picasso, Jacques Villon, Zao Wou-ki. The portfolio is complete as issued and guarded in the original linen box.

Translation by Jean Beaufret. Eight Pythian Ode portfolio, P.A. Benoit Ale, Paris 1960. Complete of four original etchings by Picasso, of which one mounted on the cover wrapper. Loose as issued, complete of chemise and slipcase. One of 44 copies, from a total edition of 56 copies on Arches wove, signed and numbered in pencil by the artist and the publisher. The eight Pythian is the last classic illustrated by Picasso, after Ovid's Metamorphoses and Aristophane's Lysistrata. Pindar ode was presented in 446 BC in the honor of the winner of the wrestling competition at the Pythian game at Delphi. Picasso etchings illustrate three aspects of the athletic contest, described in Pindar's ode: A young athlete about to begin the match, the triumphant athlete radiating beauty and strength, and defeated athlete with folded arms and dark face. The dry point mounted on the cover can be reconfigured into an imaginary portrait of the poet. Ref Cramer 108 Very good conditions.

Cirque de l'étoile filante was published in 1938 by Vollard and features a series oflithographs depicting scenes from the circus. Rouault's expressive and bold stylecaptures the drama and emotion of the circus performers, portraying them with asense of melancholy and depth. The book is considered a masterwork ofmodernist illustration ans is highly sought after by collectors and art enthusiastsalike. The book comprises of 17 aquatints printed in colors and 82 woodcuts, onMontval laid paper, bound in the original cloth chemise and matching slipcase. It is numbered 129 on the justification page and is one of a totaledition of 250. Small tear on the upper left corner of the original cover.

Limited numbered edition of 132 copies, of which this is n. 30 of the 15 copies on Hollande van Gelder paper, that together with 15 copies in Japan imperial, is illustrated with three etchings by Picasso: Portrait of Reverdy on frontispiece, present in all 132 editions, "Trois femmes à la Fontaine"- "Les baigneuses" only in the first 30 copies. In very good conditions with occasional spots.

Complete book with 24 original color woodcuts by Marc Chagall accompanying a collection of poems written by the artist from 1930 to 1964, with the exception of an older poem Le Jardin written in 1909. Limited edition in 238 copies, of which this one is n. 105 of 200 printed in Rives wove paper with a watermark designed by the artist. Signed in pencil by Chagall on Justification page. Joan Miró, Alice Paalen. Editions Sagesse, 1938. The Reclining Hourglass, a collection of poems by surrealist poet and painter Alice Paalen, an impressive figure in the twentieth century art world. It includes an original red etching on a yellow cut-out background in frontispiece by Joan Miró, which he made specifically for this book. Bordas, Paris, 1949. The complete three-volume anthology of poems by Tristan Tzara, comprising of 23 etchings in color. Eight colored etchings by Max Ernst (Volume I), Seven by Yves Tanguy (Volume II), Eight by Joan Miro (Volume III) encased in a black box with large geometric mosaic decorations adorning the covers. The edition features a complete portfolio of 33 etchings with aquatints in color by Joan Miró printed on Guarro wove paper. Limited edition of 273 numbered copies, of which this copy is number 180. Each copy is signed in pencil on the justification page by Miró.. La Revue Blanche Complete collection of 237 issues of the Parisian series of the French literary and artistic magazine (October 1891 April 15, 1903). The magazines are guarded in 30 clam-shell boxes in beige cloth, each with title, number, and years of the magazines included. One volume in large format collects the lithographic plates out of text of the magazines, including 18 original lithographs by Bonnard, Toulouse-Lautrec, Redon, Vuillard, Denis, and others. La Revue Blanche was initially founded in Liège in December 1889 by the Natanson brothers and Félix Fénéon, and then moved to Paris in October 1891. Gerard de Nerval, Illustrated by Lucien Pissarro. Limited edition of 130 nominative copies on Arches pour fil paper, of which this one is the n 73 for Henry Michel-Dansac. Gerard de Nerval tale from the collection of Voyage en Orient, illustrated with Lucien Pissarro composition drawings, engraved in woodcuts by Lucien and his wife Esther, Pissarro. This copy is enriched with a suite of the engravings on China paper (except for the vignette on the justification page) + two prints, also on China paper, of an unselected plate the first mounted at the head of the volume (N 17/ 50), and the second on a loose leaf (N. 49/50). In artistic binder signed M. Lortic ( Marcelin Lortic), empire green morocco, large gilt frame on the covers composed of a double frieze and rosettes, ornate ribbed spine, the original olive gray calf cover with florals gilt motives embossed, is preserved inside. Limited numbered edition, total edition 253 copies, of which this copy is one of the 30 copies on Arches wove paper, signed in colophon by Miró and Tzara. With one lithograph with collage-highlighted in cover, one color lithograph in frontispiece, and 70 lithographs in color and black by Miro, accompany Tzara poems and justification page. Miró raw, primordial drawings, amplify the flow of the text, creating a parallel visual language which give no respite, forcing the progression of the pages in a striking conjunction with Tzara poem. Loose as issued, and complete, in the original lithographic chemise and slipcase. Some offprints and stains at the edges - Missed the signed lithograph for the first 30 copies of this edition.

Paris, Éditions du Chêne, 1946. This beautiful portfolio is a collaboration byFrench poet Pierre Reverdy and the renown Henri Matisse. It comprises of poems by Pierre Reverdy and fourteen original lithographs in sanguine by Matisse. It is one of only 200 copies on vélin de Lana, from a total edition of 250 numbered copies, all signed by Riverdy and Matisse. It is complete with a full illustrated cover, folder and slipcase. Complete porfolio of 12 drypoints, all signed and numbered in pencil by Dali, of which 11 with pochoirs in color depicting the fables of Jean de La Fontaine. One drypoint in black depicts de la Fontaine and is printed on Velin d'Arches. Guarded in the original brown velvet case, with gilded title and Dali's gilded signature. Each print with the certificate of authenticity by Roland Mouret Editeur.
