NY : E.J. Hale & Son, 1878 Alexander Means was an inventor, physicist, poet and a past Emory College president at the original campus in Oxford GA. Many say he was the father of modern electricity. His famous light bulb experiment preceded Tesla and Edison by decades. This is a very rare first edition (1878). The book is in sound condition. Blue cloth cover intact as well as binding. Minor cloth fray on spine and damp stain on rear cover. What is most remarkable about this book is that it is inscribed by one of his former slaves after his freedom. The inscription reads " Susie , Accept this cluster of Poems by one of my old masters from your affecionate husband A.F.P Decatur Ga, Apr 1878. This book was printed by the Bodleian library to commemorate the reacquisition of their only First Folio that was lost for centuries. There are numerous illustrations including the two actual engravings of only known image of William Shakespeare. Oversize folio 15in tall by 10in wide. Rebound in library brown buckram. Macmillan, 1978 Stated first edition 1978. Inscribed/SIGNED and dated by author. David Atlee Phillips is widely considered to be one of the main players in the JFK assassination. He is also thought to be the elusive "Maurice Bishop" cover agent that was Lee Harvey Oswald's handler seen conferring with Oswald in Dallas in early November 1963. He was also heavily involved in the 1973 Allende coup and the Bay of Pigs leading the pre-invasion training in Guatemala. Phillips was recruited to the CIA in the early 1950s while running an English language newspaper in Chile. Phillips had a 25-year career with the CIA ultimately becoming the Western Hemisphere Chief in 1973. Fluent in several languages he retired and founded the retired CIA agent association. Warner Brothers, 1972 A large DELIVERANCE movie press packet from Warner Brothers. It consists of 30 still stock movie photos 8x10 bw glossy from the Georgia location shoots in the Tallulah Gorge and on the Chatooga river. Most of the photos made it into the movie but some did not. Lots of behind the scenes with all the actors, writers (James Dickey) & Director John Boorman and others chatting. Includes 8 typed scenes on Warner Brothers stationary and an oversized movie Press Book - 20 pages with all the poster options and reviews. An amazing collection. Like new. Geneva: Institut International De Cooperation Intellectuelle, 1933 French language first edition. This rare and virtually impossible book in hardcover to find is a first edition written by Albert Einstein and Sigmund Freud from a letter exchange they had as a plea for no war again in Europe. It was published in 1933 simultaneously in English (Why War ?), French and German for a total printing of 3000 copies. The 2,000 copies in German were seized by Adolf Hitler and the Nazis in 1933 and banned for sale and distribution and were burned. This is an extremely rare book and is only seen in a reprint. This is the French first edition published in Geneva , Switzerland in 1933. Green woven cloth exterior with small black spine label in near fine unmarked condition. "Einstein-Freud Pourquoi La Guerre" on spine label. This copy was found in a bookstall in 2009 in Rome , Italy. This book is copy No 392 /3000.. First Edition.. Hardcover. Very Good.

This is his manuscript with the same title as the movie. His story has true to life nefarious characters: CIA links etc. This is not out of the realm of possibility.
