SIGNED & inscribed on the endpaper ' Martyn Love Roald Dahl 6/10/85' No further inscriptions or ownership markings. The top edge is dust spotted & there is a small amount of foxing to the endpaper but inside the pages are clean. The original jacket is discoloured at the edges ( not noticeable from the outside) but & there is some light edge wear but no tears or loss.

Bound in green cloth with gilt lettering to spine & gilt design to the front.There is some wear to the edges & corners & a little fraying top & tail of the spine. No visible inscription or ownership markings but the blank page between the endpapers & half title page has been neatly cut out. No other torn, loose or missing pages but the binding a is a little 'shaken' & .there are small creases to the lower corner of a few pages. Inside the pages are mainly clean but there are a few grubby marks here & there. The pictorial endpapers are slightly darkened. Illustrated in b/w by E H Shepard. .

Inside there is some discoloration to the front endpaper & the name of a previous owner in pencil- otherwise the pages are clean & free from foxing or annotation. There is some cracking between the frontis & title page with the stitching exposed but nothing is loose or missing & the other pages are firmly bound. Illustrated with maps in b/w. .
