Decorated endpapers and pastedowns. Price of $5.00 on the front flap of the dust jacket. Illustrated with several full-page and in-text black and white photographs. A record of Wendell Phillips' travels to the ancient sites Beihan and Marib, and modern Yemen and Oman. Phillips had a fascination with ancient Middle Eastern archaeology, and was the President of the American Foundation for the Study of Man. A touch of foxing to the boards' edges; jacket has a chip to the rear panel and a bit of general edge wear.

This copy also SIGNED and warmly INSCRIBED on the title page: "To A. L. W. Williams, with the author's best salaams - Wendell Phillips."
