Pages are clean, photo illustrations are clear black and white images with no bleeding or smearing. Spine is intact with no cracking or splitting. Pending is paper covered boards. Some acid stains inside back cover due to acidic binding glue, title page and first blank page are smudgy on edges.some chipping top and bottom of spine and normal rubbing on bottom cover edge. Top and side of covers have no rubbing. Slightly bumped corners. Overall in good plus condition. Beautiful catalog of bindings by the Lakeside Press, a company formed in 1921 with a standard of doing simply the best that could be done. From the foreword, this book was made to represent their progress up to this point, and includes good reference for binding terms and styles. B&W Photographs; This book is in Very Good+ condition and was possibly issued without a dust jacket. The book and its contents are in mostly clean, bright condition. There is some light rubbing and one small tear to the cloth on the top spine end of the book cover. There is a repaired tear to the spine of the book cloth as well. The text pages are mostly clean and bright, but do have some beginning toning to the edges and the endpapers. The tissue guards on some of the illustrated plates are missing. "The Donnelley company aimed to produce books and periodicals with impressive modern design and mass printed commercial and reference materials.
