Engraving with etching, aquatint and hand-coloring on 1836 watermarked J. Whatman hand-made paper. Unusually wide, untrimmed margins showing the pulls from the binder's signatures on the left margin and the gilt to the top edge. From the library of H. Bradley Martin with his modest bookplate to front pastedown. Includes Sotheby's lot-bookmark from the famous sale. As is common, this volume lacks the title preliminaries to volume two. Complete with 101 attractive hand colored full-page plates. Plate 19-26, 35-36, and 83-86 are bound out of order. Other than Bradley's plate, no previous owners' names or other defacements.

One 14.75 x 21.75 inch original hand-colored chromolithograph from John Gould's The Birds of Great Britain published by the author in 1873. One page of text description with the same measurements are included. Top edge gilt. A nice clean copy without previous owners' names or other markings. Please expect the possibility of additional postage as this has a large size.

Two volume set in green cloth bound by H. Brown with gilt titles to spines. A total of 42 chromolithographed plates. Speckled edges. Vol. I regards partridges, pheasants, and sand-grouse, with Vol. II continuing with pheasants and then megapodes, curassows, hoatzins, and bustard-quails. Previous owner's name in ink to front endpapers dated 1955. Stain to front cover of Vol. II (see image). Overall nice clean copies.
