Thomas Y. Crowell & Co, 1936. Hardcover. Acceptable. Hardcover in poor condition. Very stained, scraped, worn boards. Front board still has fairly bright gilt lettering. Twists. Red stain on outer edges of text-block has gotten wet through the years, leaving nice read stains on the pages. FFE is cut away. Despite the outward raggedness of boards and such, the binding remains good and this is a perfectly serviceable copy. Bumped and worn corners. 799 pages.

Modern Graphics, 2002. Hardcover. Very Good. In like new condition. Blue buckram covered boards, with gilt lettering and design on front board. Compiled for the Cass County Historical Society. Tight binding, it's doubtful the book has ever been read or even opened all the way. 253 pages.

From the Bottom Press, 1979. Softcover. Good. Second printing, 1979. Beige wraps are dirty,scraped and smudged. Wearing on edges of covers and along spine. Bumped corner tips. Page block is dirty and scraped. Glue is showing on inside covers in the hinges, otherwise, readable copy. 112 pages

Macmillan Company, 1966. Hardcover. Good. Hardcover, prepared by The Bank Street College of Education. This is a former library copy, withdrawn from the Center for Multi-handicapped Children. Front pastedown has a blank "property of and issued to" stamp, and FFE has small stamp from the school. No dust jacket. Pictorial boards are lightly yellowed, with some shelf-rubbing. Quite firm binding. A couple of pages have fingerprint smudges. Very readable. 256 pages.

G. & C. Merriam Co., Publishers, 1923. Hardcover. Good. Large quarto hardbound. This dictionary has been beautifully rebound with lovely light brown leather over the boards. Raised bands on the spine. Front board has a couple of areas of discoloration and two horizontal scrapes in the middle. Scraping to outside edge of boards with a few scratches. This leather is really beautiful. The bands at top and bottom of the spine are worn (probably the reason for the rebinding). Paste downs and free papers are reminiscent of the old style of marbled paper. The pages have stains, and are moisture rippled. Tissue guard between frontispiece and title page is present, but crimped and stained. This is a beautiful dictionary, plenty of colorful photos and such. Wearing to lower corners of page block. D. Appleton and Company, 1886. Hardcover. Acceptable. This is the original 1886 printing of this text-book. It is not a reprint, it's the real deal. This is only the first volume. Part I: The Normal Eye, Determination of Refraction, Diseases of the Media, Physiological Optics, and Theory of the Ophthalmoscope. Brown cloth board covers are faded, scratched, rubbed, soiled and worn. Corner tips, heel and head of spine are quite worn and almost threadbare. Bottom of boards are scraped. Tail and head of spine are mashed and worn. Corner tips are dented. The hinges between pastedowns and end pages are split, revealing the liner material underneath. Two small bookseller stickers on the paste down, and the number "500" written in pencil. FFE has previous owner name written in a beautiful script. The word ADD is in the upper right corner. John Edwards, 1971. Hardcover. Acceptable. Spine is cocked to the right. Dust jacket has seen some better days. Bright green mylar-covered DJ is torn, scuffed, creased, worn and faded. Boards are in really good shape, with minimal wear or rubbing. Upper and lower spine have been bumped. Front end paper has large "Ex Libris" sticker with owners name barely legible and light pencil erasure. Pages fall open on page 33 and 3, but binding is intact.

1990. Hardcover. Good. Large HEAVY book (six pounds), filled with color photographs and a plethora of diagrams on heavy, glossy, paper stock. The DJ is rubbed, scraped, with deeper scratches on the back cover. Crimping and scraping along cover edges. Tears to the DJ at upper edge of spine has been repaired with scotch tape. Black textured boards, with red foil titling and duplicating the front of DJ. As noted, this book is heavy, and as such, the lower corner of back board is quite dented, with the other cover tips being minorly so. Head of spine is dented, with heel of spine being more so. Red paste downs and end pages are free of markings. Outer edges of glossy pages appear to have light tanning to them, but very faintly. This book will appeal to aviation buffs. 329 pages.

W. Newman and Company, 1959. Hardcover. Acceptable. Small hardcover guidebook issued by the Department of Publicity of His Majesty's Government of Nepal. Text, advertisements and two fold-out maps. DJ is rubbed, dirty, chipped and worn. All edges of DJ are worn with significant moisture waves. Moisture damage and staining confined to bottom left portion of book, growing fainter and by page 57, the staining disappears. Moisture waves remain. Age-toning to pages and slick photo stock has darker toning around edges. Blue cloth boards are faded, however thanks to the DJ, the white lettering on cover and spine remains quite clear. Corner tips are bent, with wearing at the corners and heel of spine strip. 130 pages. 5x7".

Honolulu Academy of Arts, 1982. Softcover. Good. Catalog for the 1982 exhibition of the same name at the Honolulu Academy of Arts. In nice condition. Light rubbing to the covers, and slight crimping/shelf wear at bottom edge. Gently bumped corner tips. Pages and the white portions of the wraps have yellowed. Full of black and white photographs with accompanying text of the pieces on display during the exhibition. 99 pages.

Country Life Limited, 1960. Hardcover. Acceptable. Hardback, revised edition. Dust jacket is very worn, rubbed, faded, chipped, scraped, torn. The flipside of DJ has 3 inch wide strip of very fragile, clear, cellophane; it appears to have come with the book originally. Green cloth boards are faded with wearing to spine ends and corner tips. Corners are dented, as is the heel of spine. Gift inscription on FFE, and darkly penciled price. Pages have age-toned to color of manila folders. Paste downs and end papers are a little darker. B&W photos throughout. 275 pages.
