Signed by Maurice Stokes and Richie Regan near their Rochester bios. Slight vertical crease throughout, some smudging and edge wear else very good. Official program for this NBA doubleheader at Madison Square Garden bearing the rare signature of then second year phenom, Maurice Stokes (1933-1970), and his teammate, Richie Regan.  Stokes won rookie of the year honors his first year and went on to become a three-time All-Star.  His promising career was cut tragically short when in 1958 he suffered a head injury which lead to his inability to play, and eventual death at the age of 36.  He was inducted into the Naismith Hall of fame in 2004, and is remembered today with the Twyman-Stokes Teammate of the Year Award which the NBA founded in 2013.   A very important and scarce HOF signature which seldom appears on the market.   .

Signed by Red Holzman and Norm Drucker on the cover and Harry Gallatin on the first page. Interior pages detached from wrappers, front cover torn horizontally half way through, some staining and wear, scorecard for the game filled out. Complete and good only. Official NBA program for a game between the New York Knickerbockers and Philadelphia Warriors, a double billing with Dubois vs. St. Simon Stock on January 13, 1957 at Madison Square Garden.  Signed on the cover by then scout for the Knicks, and later coach, hall of famer, Red Holzman.  Additionally signed by Hall of famer, Harry Gallatin, who led the Knicks in a win with 22 points that day.  Influential professional referee, Norm Drucker, has also signed.  A wonderful piece of Knicks memorabilia.

Supernatural novel, considered to be Haggard's best, and listed in Bleiler (726). Very good with some scuffing and spotting to boards, bumped corners, and wear and pushing to spine ends. Front hinge starting at title page. General second hand store stamp to ffep and dedication page. Front cover decoration is faded. Complete with publisher's advertisements at end.

Set of six scripts from the TV miniseries, "Ned Blessing: The Story of My Life and Times," which aired on August 18th - September 15th, 1993, and starred Brad Johnson. This series followed up the made-for-TV movie "Ned Blessing: The True Story of My Life," which aired the previous year on CBS and starred Billy Baldwin. Each script is signed on the front wrapper by Bill Wittliff, and in the case of episode 5, "Oscar," additionally signed and inscribed by the cowriter, Stephen Harrigan, to the former owner. New York: CIO Political Action Committee, 1944. First edition. 20x14cm, [30]pp including printed, inner wrappers. Photographs throughout, map on rear cover. Staple bound with some wear to wraps, mainly at corners. Internally clean and very good. Uncommon pamphlet from the newly formed (1943) Congress of Industrial Organizations Political Action Committee.  This promotional publication of sorts was intended to elicit support from the public and other unionists (a tactic unique to the CIO-PAC at the time) to end discrimination within unions.   The second president of the organization and steelworkers unionist, Philip Murray, helped found the CIO-PAC in response to the Smith-Connally Act, which prevented strikes in industries during wartime production.  The group supported FDR, who is featured in the pamphlet, and who vetoed the Smith-Connally Act.  The CIP-PAC, besides advocating against discrimination, also helped register black voters in the South and worked towards eliminating poll taxes.   .

Signed and inscribed by Henderson to Clyde McDuffie and dated in 1939 on the ffep. Maroon cloth stamped in black, nearly fine with some light use at corners and spine ends, scattered foxing to preliminaries else clean internally. Wonderful association copy of this landmark work from the "Father of Black Basketball," educator, and NAACP pioneer, Edwin Henderson (1883-1977).  Henderson was instrumental in introducing basketball and other physical ed. programs, including the improvement of facilities, to African American students in Washington D.C.  There he served as the first black physical education teacher in the District of Columbia.   This copy warmly inscribed to Clyde [C.] McDuffie, a D.C. resident and educator in the prestigous Black Dunbar H.S. who was an active voice in the segregation era, speaking out through letters.  Perhaps the most well known of these… Leer más

Generally very good. 3 issues of this fairly uncommon Southern literary magazine which took up the mantle of such publications as the Double Dealer, beginning publication in September of 1930.  This lot includes issues #4, 8, and 10: Sept 27, Oct 25, and Nov15.   The New Orleanian was published bimonthly and included "a varied banquet of tasty reading, seasoned just right from...
