In the 19th century, English pottery makers began producing pieces for the American market that portrayed the new nation's history, historic events people and scenery; not particulary expensive to buy, these pieces grew extremely popular, particulary among New England farmers and townspeople. A tight, fine example in the original stiff-paper printed dust wrapper with the cut out that displays the cover illustration, shallow chipping head of spine.

(Cape May, NJ): West Railroad Company of New Jersey, 1877. Reprint. Wrappers. Fine. 36 pps. in printed wrappers; illustrated with engraving. Scarce facsimile reprint of the pamphlet produced by the West Jersey Railroad Company to promote passenger travel from Philadelphia to Cape May on the Jersey Shore. Included are schedules, fares, stations and descriptins of points of interest in Cape May as they were in 1877. The publisher found a copy of the original pamphlet in a Philadelphia antiques shop in the late 1980s and published a limited number of these facsimilies. Reportedly only 6 copies of the original are known to exist. A fine, freh copy.
