Henry Williamson's last book tells the story of a boy and a pigeon, the pigeon-racing world, and the poisoning of peregrine falcons who kill the pigeons to eat. This edition illustrated by Ken Lilly. Condition: Generally good condition, but the binding suffers a small amount of loss at the head and foot of the spine and light surface wear to the front joint. However, the pages are clean and the binding is secure. Williamson's signature is crisp.

A collection of verse in Scots (as popposed to an anthology of Scottish poems) starting with anonymous verse of the 1300s through to poets born in the first two decades of the twentieth century. Also includes a glossary of early Scots and modern Scots. Condition: A good solid copy, though the spine has a water-stain and is faded, and a few spots of fraying to the rear joint. The contents are very good.

London: Lafayette, 1940. Soft cover. Good. This is a Second World War society photographic print of a naval office by Lafayette of New Bond Street. Undated, c1940. The sitter is Commander Julian Liddell (1904-1946). He became Fleet Wireless Officer in 1938, and captained HMS Sheffield from November 1944 to January 1945. He died aboard HMS Newfoundland in 1946 when the ship was caught in a violent storm off the coast of NSW. A large wave slammed him against the ship's breakwater and the foremost six-inch turret and although crew members were able to bring him to safety, he died without regaining consciousness. Lafayette Photography were founded in Dublin in 1880 and in the twentieth century were hugely successful in photographing society portraits including the Royal Family. Condition: The mount measures 28 × 20.5, the image is 18 × 13.5cm. There is some light tanning to the mount but otherwise this is in good condition. It is not framed or glazed.

Conrad's Secret Agent is a story woven around an attack on the Greenwich Observatory in 1894 masterminded by Verloc, a Russian spy working for the police, and ostensibly a member of an anarchist group in Soho. His masters instruct him to discredit the anarchists in a humiliating fashion, and when his evil plan goes horribly awry, Verloc must deal with the repercussions of his actions. While rooted in the Edwardian period, Conrad's tale remains strikingly contemporary, with its depiction of Londoners gripped by fear of the terrorists living in their midst. Condition: A good reading copy. The cloth is scuffed with slight loss at the head of the spine, with light rubbing and bumping to the edges. The hero, Paul Peterson, is an Oxford graduate and unknowing heir to the throne of Numania. He was raised by his guardian, Colonel Bombavitch, and is in love with his guardian's niece, the self-promoting novelist Amanda Dolorosa. When stranger's approach him with messages such as "Paul Petrovitch, be prepared, the day is at hand", he seeks the great detectives help, only to discover that all is not as it seems...
