Gilt title and decorations on the spine. All edges gilt. Cloth is torn at the front bottom corner. Other corners are gently bumped. Leather is lightly rubbed on the joints and spine, more evident on the lower spine. Interior contents are very sturdy and clean with light foxing to the colored maps. All text is in French. A good or better copy.

Pencil name of Mitchell written on the dedication page. Provenance from the estate of the Mitchell family in Atlanta, Georgia. Stephens Mitchell (1896-1983) was the son of Eugene Muse Mitchell and Isabel "Maybelle" (Stephens) Mitchell. He was born 1896 in Atlanta. His sister was Margaret Mitchell, author of Gone With the Wind. Stephens Mitchell attended the University of Georgia and was a prominent Atlanta attorney, historian, and devout Catholic.
