Forming a Complete Guide to The British Metropolis and its Environs" (London : 1851-1852). Steel line engraving on paper. Later hand colour. Engraved surface 97 x 132mm (approx. 3-5/8" x 5-1/8"). A couple of tiny spots, but otherwise in very good state. A guaranteed genuine antique print. Adams 215/137.

Original black boards, blocked and lettered in red; some spotting of endpapers and edges; text a little tanned, but a very good and sound copy in the original dust-jacket by John Pollack (1918-1985) - the jacket with light wear, a few marks and short nicks, with some spotting and creasing to flaps, but also very good. Small bookseller's label of a Cape Town bookshop and contemporary ownership inscription of A. D. Webb.

Engraved by John Rolph (1799-1862) from an original study by the ubiquitous William Henry Bartlett. Originally produced for "The History and Topography of Essex" published in parts from 1831 onwards. Steel line engraving on paper. Later hand colour. Engraved surface 110 x 158mm (approx. 4-3/8" x 6-1/4"). In very good and clean state. A guaranteed genuine antique print.

[viii],(248)pp. Original stone cloth, blocked and lettered in blue and red; top edge pink; some spotting of cloth and edges, but a good and sound copy in the Paul Bacon dust-jacket - price-clipped, but very good, fresh and clean.

Post 8vo (21cm). 192pp. Original black boards, lettered in silver; endpapers very slightly tanned, but otherwise a very good, clean and sound copy in the original dust-jacket - a stylish pictorial design in red, green and black on white - just a touch dusty, but otherwise very good indeed.

An attractively produced promotional pamphlet, originally published some fifteen years earlier (and still titled on the cover) as "Dainty Desserts for Dainty People", but here expanded by its new author to include a few salads and savouries - everything made with Knox Sparkling Gelatine (both the plain and the acidulated versions). Recipes include various fruit jellies, figs in claret, chartreuse of jelly; coffee jelly; snow pudding; peach snowballs; various blancmanges and creams; royal pudding; various charlotte russes; various ice creams, sherbets and mousses; Knox salad; perfection salad; aspic à la financiere; lobster salad; turkish delight, marshmallows, etc. Crown 8vo (18cm). 36pp + recto of lower wrapper numbered 37. Glasgow : M. C. Publications, [ca.1948]. First edition. Music critic spellbound by tall, slender, lovely and mysterious pianist - "a creature of another world". This obscure and probably pseudonymous writer, author of at least half a dozen titles for M. C. Publications, here has his or her name mis-spelt "L'Aurnaud" on the title-page. Crown 8vo (19cm). 128pp. Original pictorial stapled wrappers; some wear and faint spotting to spine; rear wrapper a little nicked and creased; staples slightly rusted; text very lightly tanned and lightly bruised in places, but a good and serviceable copy of an uncommon Scottish title. Just a single copy (National Library of Scotland) located in major libraries worldwide.

Engraved surface 141 x 180mm (approx. 5-5/8" x 7-1/8"). Very faint marking to margins, but in very good state. A guaranteed genuine antique print.
