Very good condition, inscribed by the author to Gillian Lewis ( Tyler ) who published her second book of poems. May Miller was an important playwright of the Harlem Rennaissance. She went on to a career in education and later devoted much of her time to poetry. This is a scarce book, especially signed.

First British edition. Very good in dust jacket with a bit of damp staining to interior flap, not affecting the cloth. Inscribed by the author to Jack Wennberg M.D., who pioneered data studies of the inequities of access to medical care.

First ediiton ( 2 vols. ) of this landmark study cited in the Supreme Court decision of Brown vs. Board of Education, Topeka KS - 1954. Myrdal was a Swedish Nobel Prize winner. Wear to the edges and age-toned. Good condition. Remnants of dust jacket flaps used as bookmarks. Bookplate of former owner inside each volume.

Number 6 of 100 signed copies of this poem on 81/2 x 11 sheet. Tiny crease/bump to bottom edge tip, otherwise fine.

Publisher's gilt decorated cloth binding. First edition. Front piece engraving with seven additional illustrations. A bright very good copy. An important early text in the Afro-American immigration to Liberia narrative. Scarce.

Introduction by Harriet Beecher Stowe. Blind stamped cloth. Frontpiece portrait. Spine repaired with some fraying to edges. Early signatures are uneven and loose but still sewn. The basis for Harriet Beecher Stowe's Uncle Tom's Cabin character.

Fine copy. Signed by many of the contributors at the publishing party for the issue.

First edition. Inscribed by the author to her sister, the dedicatee of the book. No closer association imaginable. Very good in dust jacket with some rubbing to the top edge. A bit of sunning/toning to top edges of the boards. An important Afro-American writer who was a significant contributor to the Harlem artistic community in the 50's/60's.

The 4th edition of this tract ( 8 pages ) published by the New England Tract Society before merging, 1825, with the New York ministry to create the American Tract Society.
