Interior is clean and unmarked. 37 pages. 11 x 8.5 inches. Rare. Two copies located on OCLC (Alaska Native Language Archive, Anchorage School District). Rare. The folk legend of ''How the Porcupine Received Its Weapon'' was told by an elder resident of Manokotak, Alaska. It was recorded by the Yup'ik Literacy class at Manokotak High School in 1982 with the instructor Anecia Lomack. The original Yup'ik is presented side-by-side with the Englsih translation. The final page provides five bars of musical notation for the song ''Qaillun Issaluum Saskungellra.'' As stated, every word was written down exactly as said by the narrator.
