Descripción:
The Haig-Brown Kingfisher Creek Society was formed in 1980 "..to retain the natural setting on the Haig-Brown property for the enjoyment and education of the public," and to "..restore Kingfisher Creek and the enhancement of its salmon and trout habitat." Starting in 1980, the Directors of the Society began to issue newsletters to those interested in the project. Included herein are 59 issues of the privately published newsletter, beginning with the November 1982 issue and continuing through November 2002. They measure 8 1/2 x 17. The newsletters show the progression of this extensive undertaking over the course of twenty years. The first three issues are missing. Each issue is 2 pp. and several contain additional material issued by the Society. Many with reproduced hand-drawn maps showing the progress and development of the creek habitat and also a few with color photos showing the steady progression of the work. Almost all newsletters with their original mailing envelopes. These…

Grand Rapids, Michigan. Antekeier & Krause Publications. 1996. Quarto (11 x 8). 38 pp. Color photos showing natural stream insects, mayflies and caddis, and their corresponding artificial imitations. Theres also numerous text illustrations. Emergence charts. With sections on The River and its Hatches - Descriptions of the Natural Caddisflies - Caddisfly Imitations - Descriptions of the Natural Mayflies - Mayfly Imitations - Another Barbless Hook. A scarce book from the co-author of Selective Trout, Hatches, Fly Fishing Strategy, Prey, etc. Theres no copies to be found in the holdings of institutions or libraries. The book is bound in white plasticized pictorial wrappers with a comb spine, blue titles and color images of stream insects. Theres a drawback to this book, though. An enthusiastic dolt thought highlighting a few paragraphs with a yellow marker was a good idea; its not horrible, but more of an irritation. The book would be fine otherwise, so Ill downgrade it…

Quarto (11 x 9). 210 pp. including appendices, index. Black and white photos. Charlie Brooks didn't suffer fools with lightweight bamboo rods on his fast water - heavy sticks throwing cable-like lines designed to get nymphs the size of hummingbirds on the bottom were required for his type of fishing. The book is a rock-by-rock guide to the Henry's Fork. Mr. Brooks died of heart failure at Travis Airbase in Fairfield, California, before its publication.
