Moon of Morrisville, PA, and is written and signed in ink and they are ordering some "S Plants" and asking for the cost for a quantity of Tuberose bulbs. Very good copy.

N. P.: Manuscript letter by J. Frank Dobie, 1939., 1939. First edition. [13 cm x 10 cm] / [5" x 4"] Manuscript letter three pages, presumably to someone at the Texas Folklore Society. Includes a black/white photograph [9 cm x 11 cm] / [3.5" x 4.5"] of Dobie at a book signing in a white suit. and with copies of his book "I'll Tell You A Tale" in front of him and he has signed the photograph in the left margin. The three-page letter reads: "Friday Noon [Nov. 17- '39] Dear Phil, I came an idea about Texas Folk Lore Society. The books should be in more schools. We can let schools have sets at $25.00 each. I wonder if you would be interested in letting a dozen or so men scattered around to place that many sets in schools. The school libraries always seem to be short of funds for buying books. It would be a nice gesture for a man or business to place a set of the books in his town's school library. Well, good wishes - Frank Dobie." Fine condition.

Laid-in to this copy is a typed letter on Tombstone Epitaph stationery and dated Nov. 24, 1971, that says in part, "I am particularly fond of some of J. Ross Browne's writings and drawings on early Western subjects, and as a result have reprinted this copy from a fairly good copy of Harper's New Monthly Magazine." Evidence of two paper clip marks at top of front cover else a fine copy.

Illustrations and pricing for all of the products listed in the title. Stevens Arms was an American firearms manufacturer founded by Joshua Stevens in 1864 in Chicopee Falls, MA. The company introduced the .22 Long Rifle round and made a number of rifle, shotgun, and target pistol designs.
