Inscribed and signed by the author/illustrator on half title accompanied by an original illustration of a rabbit smoking a cigar. Caldecott Honor Book by the author of Jumanji, jauntily enhanced with an original illustration.

Written in the same spirit as Haggard's 1899 work "A Farmer's Year," in this case stemming from notebooks kept during the year 1903 when the author planned and planted a garden on his substantial estate. Uncommon in retail and only three holdings found in OCLC.
