Frohawk�s daughter, Valezina Bolingbroke. Fine hardback in fine dw. Very unusual indeed to have both these signatures. Chatfield�s book is a must have for Frohawk enthusiasts. Valenzina Bolingbroke was a great admirer of her father and wrote a memoir about her father which is a delightful account with some charming pesonal ancedotes.

The collection of insects described herein was made by Doctor William Hunter in the 18th Century. At the time of publication, they were housed at Glasgow University and comprise specimens from the following beetle families: Cicindelidae, Carabidae, Dytiscidae and Scarabaeidae.

Fore-edges of text block have scattered foxing but this does not really affect the contents. Discusses vision, hearing, smell, taste and touch in birds. Further considers the locomotive faculties, flight, migration and instinct of birds.
