Publisher's cloth in dust jacket, book near fine with slightest wear and toning, jacket good, complete but with some rubbing and edgewear, especially visible to spine ends; verso of jacket had some old tanned tape but we were able to remove all of it, leaving only scant evidence that it was ever there. K. Le Moyne is a famous surgeon. So why would he give it all up to move to a small town where Sidney Page, "a strong, beautiful girl," is training hard to become a nurse?

Possibly inscribed to a member of the prominent Jones family of Pittsburgh, Uniontown and Sewickley -- industrialists and steel magnates.

RARE with OCLC locating 8 holdings, 7 in the US and 1 at the V&A in London. K. Venkatappa (1886-1965) was a pioneer painter, sculptor and an exponent of veena. He was born into a family of court painters in the princely state of Mysore, present day Karnataka. He was a pupil of Abanindranath Tagore. He was best known for his watercolors.
