1912. Broadside. 8" x 10". Staining along the edges but otherwise in good condition. Formerly framed. The loose backing board from the frame has a note in ink indicating this piece was printed in 1912 and hung in the Beersville Hotel in 1912.

Boston, Newburyport: Weeks, Jordan & Co, 1840. Third. 296 pp. Stains, wear, and foxing. There are numbering mistakes on a few pages, but the book is complete. This third edition seems to be unique and has a label affixed to the front cover for the Weeks, Jordan Co. They likely published this from the plates of the second edition. Only two copies of the second edition are in institutional collection and none of this third edition.

Benton Harbor: Mary's House of David, 2009. 152 pp. In printed wraps. The upper right corner of the front wrap is creased. Printed at the community. Number 22 of 50 copies printed. in 2023 Br. Ron Taylor is the sole member of the Christian Israelite community Mary City of David. Once number over 200 the community practices celibacy, vegetarianism, communal ownership of property, non-violence, and believed in gathering of the tribes of Israel which would hasten the second coming of Christ. This well-crafted book includes historical information on the community along with biographical information on members Taylor new plus information on the community's gardens. This copy is inscribed by Taylor to Gerry Wertkin.

New York: G. P. Putnam's Sons, 1889. 78 pp. Hardcover with gold gilt on the cover and spine. Wear to the covers including fading/sunning most prevalent on the spine. Spine is bumped at the top and bottom with some light rubbing. What looks like a small ink mark on the bottom front cover and bottom back cover. Textured cloth cover with a pattern of stars. Collis' husband was a General for the Union Army in the Civil War and received a Medal of Honor for his efforts. Septima recalls her Southern upbringing, life on the front lines, marriage to a Union General while her brother fights for the Confederacy, meeting Abraham Lincoln, and more. Fascinating look at the Civil War from a perspective not usually seen.

New York: Burgess, Stringer & Co, 1887. 38, [1] pp. Fair condition in later boards. Loman (1812-1878) was born and England but eventually became one of the best-known abortionists in New York city. She and her husband also sold patent medicines and birth control. Loman was tried and imprisoned for a for providing an abortion for a whom who died a s a result. Years later Comstock harassed her, and she killed herself.

This broadsheet lists times for trains from Boston to Albany where you can take trains to Western New York, Ohio, and other points west. or catch a steamer in Buffalo. The verso has a map of various routes west as far as Wisconsin and Missouri.

Boston: Houghton, Mifflin and Company, 1882. Standard Library Edition. Bound in 3/4 red leather. An attractive set of 15 volumes bound in red leather with marbled paper covered boards. Light wear to the bindings with a few scratches and the top of one spine has a minor chip. A very attractive set.

New York: Nonesuch Press, 1929. 7 volumes. Bound in full morrocco and in very good condition with page edges lightly soiled. The former owner's name is written in ink on the inside front covers. Set 76 of 1600 copies.

Interior foxed and paper covered boards show some minor wear and fading. Each volume has the bookplate of Irving Bowdoin Kingsford who was related to Washington Irving. This is number 32 of 491 sets issued as the Centenary Biographical Edition.

London: Smith, Elder & Co, 1869. 22 volumes published in 1869 but lacking volumes 23 and 24 which were not published until 1886. 3/4 leather bindings that are rubbed but would clean up well. The interior of the set has moderate foxing. A good decorative set.
