VG-Fine/No Jacket. 15 Cm x 23 Cm. 245 pp., 8 text diagrams (I make it); 1974 dated sig. top front pastedown, small inoffensive 'Noel 70' dated sig. top t.p., slight bumping to outer cornbers, otherwise clean, tight & unmarked inside and out. An exposition of the personality factor system publisheded by Rene Le Senne (1882-1954) in 1945, preceded by a general review of problems and approaches to the topic. Obvious affinities with Cattell's approach in being based on analysis of questionnaire responses but has a quite different, idealist, philosophical rationale.. Apparently scarce. VG-. 13.5 Cm x 21.5 Cm. 249 pp.; would be Fine but someone has added plastic lamination to covers and the sellotape used has left brown marks on facing leaves which also show through on inner sides, there is also slight open creasing top corner to front half-title (no end-papers issued) due to clumsy price erasure. Issued as Etudes d'Epistemologie Genetique XXVIII.

VG for age and genre. 15 Cm x 22.5 Cm. 265 pp.; the main problem with this is the heavy tanning throughout due to appalling wood-pulp paper commonly used in post-war France, this does not however appear to have rendered the paper fragile, small sig.of psychologist and statistician Jonckheere top front cover otherwise clean and unmarked, covers generally very clean but again spine and edges badly tanned, a few small trivial chips to bottom edge. An important work in the history of geological research.

(1)+272, 5 text figs in first chapter. ex-Royal College of Surgeons with their early round stamp (dated 1891) on t.p. & fairly liberally throughout, t.p. faintly foxed, main problem is faint water-mark to bottom outer corner throughout, which has also affected bottom fr. edge & corner of otherwise clean undamaged covers, this is never serious and gradually fades. Label ghost top corner fr.cover, top sp.rubbed, otherwise covers clean & undamaged bar water-marking already mentioned. A scarce work, including grotesque engraving of 'Femme boschimane' (after Thulie). Issued as 'Actualites scientifiques et Industrielles 1014' in the 'Logique et Methodologie' series directed by Thomas Greenwood. Scarce.

Good/very Good. 9 Cms x 15.5 Cms. 3 free endpapers+t.p.+(14)+584+(2)('Approbation des Docteurs' and 'Extraict du privilege du Roy'); ornate ink early pen surname facing t.p., modern private ex-lib label & inscrip.top 1st free endpaper, otherwise internally tight & unmarked, some intermittent browning & grey spotting throughout and apparent light ancient water-staining in places (inc.bottom t.p.), but paper texture unaffected and otherwise undamaged Tightly bound. gilt edged & paneled leather tooled covers sl. bowed inwards and board surfaces have nice aged patina but are undamaged; sp. has sm. hole in second lowest (of 6) panels, bottom sp. rubbed, thin stable split along top of top panel ridge. Issued in the Studia Psychologica series. viii+306, 8 figs (I make it); Gustav Jahoda's small sig.top front end-paper and library donation label verso front cover, no other library markings, otherwise internally clean, tight and unmarked, covers clean but slightly corner rubbed, quite heavy browning to spine and more lightly to edge regions except bottom, very slight rubbing to bottom spine, browning probably common to most copies as due to wood-pulp used at this time. Has full t.p. but this would be p. 8 according to pagination, so presumably some pre-title material missing, though no indications any loss apart from fragment of what appears to be wrapper in gutter behind fr. edge of pamphlet binding. 17 cm x 25 cm

Paris: Artheme Fayard 'Le Livre de Demain'. Printed Yellow Card. Very Good. 18.5 Cms x 23.5 Cms. Morin-Jean. 125 pp. with 24 woodcuts, 3 publisher's fliers slipped in. Undated but presumably 1939 edition, confirmed by 1938 date on one of the fliers. Internally this could almost be rated 'mint' as it is completely unopened, Covers are sl.darkened at edges with a little edge-rubbing and a very sm. nick top sp., a yellow 'prix: cinq francs' label at bottom front cover. The slipped in fliers are: i. for an encyclopedic dictionary, ii. 'Le Saint a New York' by Leslie Charteris, iii. 'Comment Aima Louis XIV' by Paul Reboux - the latter two attractively colour printed and all, again, virtually mint. A particularly good copy of this nicely embellished edition of Gide's famous novel. Fine. 14 Cms x 22 Cms. authour list+xl+239; small (15 mm) round stamp of Birmingam Assay Office library bottom front endpaper, this however is perfectly innocuous, otehrwise internally clean, tight and unmarked in minimally worn bright covers, gilt decorated panelled spine with seperate gilt-lettered title and author labels, boards unrubbed and only a few ribs to leather, primarily from minor corner rubbing. t.p. and 'Avant-Propos' dated 1869, n'Notes Preliminaires' dated 1868 which I take to be 1st ed. date. Scarce in this condition.

Printed green card covers browning on sp. and round edges, with some quite innocuous faint brown blotches on sp. - but these trivial. Compliments slip with personal greeting slipped in. VG-. 13.5 Cm x 21.5 Cm. 243 pp., this would be VG or better were it not for the fact that someone has sealed the covers in protective plastic, which they have fixed with sellotape-type tape, this has resulted in brown rectangular lines being offset to facing half-title and rear endpaper which are also visible on the inner sides of these leaves. Clean, tight & unworn otherwise.
