A bibliographical curiosity is the presence of a slip tipped on to the blank page opposite the Preface reading: ‘The present Edition of this Book having been imperfectly printed, all the Copies are given away.’ However, we can find nothing in the book to correspond to this statement. Gift inscription on front free endpaper. Head and foot of spine worn, the head rather heavily, and both external hinges cracking at the head; otherwise, so far as we can ascertain, a near fine copy.

On half-title page 'For Ian Mudie - with gratitude for his poetry, and love of our country - Katharine Susannah Prichard'. Under the photographic portrait on front dust-jacket flap is written the date 1928, and there is a correction on page 63 both of which seem to be in Prichard's hand. First Edition.
