Agel (producer) and Fiore (designer) are the same creative team behind The Medium Is the Massage, and this unique presentation of Fuller's techno-utopian ideals is in some ways even more adventurous than the better-known McLuhan book. Although Fiore was trained in traditional bookmaking techniques, including papermaking and hand lettering, he later began engaging in design experiments that presaged the relentless but often choppy information flow of the internet. This book is a great example—an aphoristic barrage, accessed at any point, expressing Fuller's concept of dymaxion (a portmanteau of the words dynamic, maximum, and tension): 'I seem to be a verb, an evolutionary process—an integral function of the universe.'
