Front hinge is completely loose and rear hinge is coming loose, the half title page is separated but included, and there is some closed tears on the pages. There is sticker damage on the front cover. Stain on page next to rear pastedown. Rear cover reads: This is one of the Volland "Happy Children Books". No edition number is indicated and so I believe it to be a first edition. Stories in this book are largely about special days such as new years, Lincoln and Washington's birthday, St. Patrick's, Palm Sunday, Good Friday, Easter, and Mother's day.

There is a hard bump on the upper front cover corner and at lower front cover near spine. There is some damage to dust jacket at upper spine where there is some missing and at upper corner where it might be silverfish damage. The side page edges are rough cut.

This book has been organized with the requirements of expression, structure, and convention firmly in mind. Even thought this book is the fourth in a series, its development and organization are such that it can be used independently as a source book for grammar and composition. The corners are bumped a little. The pages are in very good condition with very little page creasing. Total pages 494. No writing.

Tiny crease at both front corners. Foxing on inside of both front and back covers. No writing, marks or page creasing.

Abridged Edition 1st printing September 1973. Retold from Daniel Defoe by Edward W. Dolch, Marguerite P. Dolch, Beulah F. Jackson. This edition illustrated with engravings after designs by J. J. Grandville. Edited especially for Scholastic Book Clubs. Front and back covers have some creases. Prior owner name on inside front cover written large & vertical on left edge. one inch closed tear on about six pages. Back cover is a little dirty. Total pages 127. Number on spine TX 2515.

Revised Inaugural Edition published in 1985. Front cover is a phto of Ronald Reagan taken by Michael Evans. 131 page booklet 4 1/4 inches wide and 6 3/4 inches high. The half title page is browned. Stated at bottom of front cover:"A Portrait of the 40th President of the United States in his own words". Forward by Betty Rendel.

Prior library book. Ink stamp on front pastedown: Curriculum Laboratory State Teachers College Library West Chester, Pa. Ink stamp also on all three page edges. Indentation stamp on title page. No writing or marks on pages. Card holder partially removed from rear pastedown.

Corners and edges worn. About 1/4 of the blue paper on the front cover is worn or scratched off. Sticker residue on upper right corner of front cover. A little of the blue paper is also comming off the rear cover and there is a little water stain at top of rear cover. The pages are browned but there is no marks, writing, or creasing. Contents: The Royal Page, The Isle of Felicity, The King and the Goatherd, and "No Robber in the Forest".
