Nevertheless, a respectable copy of a noted rarity.. Limited edition #79 of 105 copies, signed by the author (who is most famous for the children's classic, The Velveteen Rabbit). Notable as a Rackham limited edition which he didn't sign. This work is frequently cited as the "rarest Rackham" limited edition and was never issued in England as a limited edition. With 7 tissue-guarded tipped-in plates by Rackham. 4to. xiv, 15-175pp., [1]. Latimore & Haskell, pgs. 59-60.

London: William Heinemann, 1923. First Edition. Very good but with front hinge broken. The scarce original dust jacket is present but spine darkened and large open tear to rear panel.. Signed by Max Beerbohm. First edition being a limited edition of 380 numbered copies signed by Beerbohm, of which only 350 were for sale, this copy being number 315. With an additional plate signed by Beerbohm in the back pocket. Large 4to. Cream gilt printed cloth.

London: T. Fisher Unwin, 1894. First edition. Very good but with with somewhat grubby boards.. Number 45 of 250 copies. Introduction by Pre-Raphaelite W.M. Rossetti. Bookplates of former owners, including Edward Crane, noted collector and publisher. Top edge gilt.

Philadelphia: Johnson and Warner, 1811. Good in contemporary plain pink paper covers (though AAS copy has printed wraps), slightly soiled, hinges cracked, foxing on pastedown illustrations.. Lovely chapbook filled with illustrations. Much scarcer than later printings. Rosenbach 448. Shaw-Shoemaker 24052. Welch 215. 12 cm.16 pp. + 8 leaves of plates ill., with first and last pasted down to covers as usual.

London: Printed at the Minerva Press for Lane, Newman, and Co., Leadenhall-Street, 1807. About good in well-worn blue paper board with spine label with substantial loss, hinges loose, prior owner name to title page, some soiling and dog-eared pages, but contents generally clean. Nevertheless desirable as a very scarce item.. Scarce Minerva Press imprint of two travel works. Curiously, apart from the Minerva title page, this volume seems identical to Volume XXII of Mavor's Historical account of the most celebrated voyages, travels, and discoveries, from the time of Columbus to the present period . . . (1801), even containing the same pagination, printer imprint, and volume numbering (as Minerva was known to place their imprint on those of other publishers). 12mo. [viii], [1]-318. Frontispiece and engravings at pgs. 93 and 265. Not in Blakey. Not is McLeod. Two copies located on Worldcat as of February 2021 (Yale and NLS).

Brief chapbook with one woodcut illustration and the ominous warning to the presumably impressionable young audience, "take warning in from these examples, and remember that life and health are given thee only to prepare for the tremendous and important hour of death". 32mo. [2], [3]-8pp. Not in Rosenbach. In publisher's wraps, but this appears to be a variant as the rear wrapper has different wording that OCLC 950909583.
