Bound in three-quarter dark brown polished calf with morocco label (maroon) to spine, gilt ruing to spine, attractive marbled boards, 134 pp. All edges marbled. Contains rare inserted slip containing an explanation of the correct etymology of the Gaelic word, 'Pelloch' appearing on p.8, line 7. A beautiful, tall copy, very fine. Campbell was a fairly successful early 19th Century Scottish poet whose book of verse here described was quite popular.

Monday, ca. 1870, ALS to Miss MacGregor, two pages. Calderon was an English painter who initially worked in the Pre-Raphaelite style, especially the "St. John's Wood Clique," who patterned their work after the PRB. "I cannot tell you how very much sorry I am that I have not been able to get round to se your 3 pictures today. My own picture (I only have one) is so much behindhand that I have three models coming tomorrow (think of that) and plenty to do till my "show days" Saturday & Sunday..."

Exquisite tinted Pre-Raphaelite frontispiece illustration, printed light green illustration design on every page, with some repetition. Book near fine. We could not locate another similar copy at the time of writing. Beautiful.

Chicago: P. C. Darrow, 1899. Original color printed and mounted calendar for 1899 in superb Japanesque style, mounted onto thick card stock. In the original printed pictorial envelope. Fine. Superb period piece.

Two empty folio size folders with inside fabric or paper "holders", the first with printed covers "Thomas William Camm... Smethwick," with printed label bearing original handwriting, "Original Black and White Drawings with Reproductions" in pen. Ties. Worn. Appears to be period, ca. 1870-90. The second, "Thomas William Camm, The Studio, Smethwick," etc printed on covers, a near fine condition, appears to be later.

Two Christmas Cards from Camm Studios, same image, but one with red highlights on image, the other signed by "TW Camm, Dec," below image. 4pp. each. Both with printed quatrain from Christmas Carol, with red initials, and with "To/From" at bottom. 8 x 10 inches. Image depicts nativity scene. Some light dusting, very good. Most scarce.

Spectacular large (elephant folio size) nine-part watercolor panel consitsting of a total of 18 separate watercolor and pencil designs of stained glass (with glossy protective sheen) arranged in three rows on hinges (entire dimensions: 13 x 26 inches) Each individual design has a two part addition at top, making each design a three-part entity. The size of each design (including all three parts) is 1 1/4 x 9 inches. Thomas William Camm (1839-1912), founder, chief artist/designer and manufacturer of stained glass in England, opened operation in 1865 as Camm Brothers in Smethwick, and later, "The Studio." Thomas Camm was one of the most accomplished stained glass designers of the period. Spectacular large mounted watercolor pinwheel panel consisting of a total of 12 separate watercolor and ink designs by Camm Studios of stained glass arranged in concentric, spiral rows. The dimensions of the mounting: 16 x 16 inches, and each design is roughly 6 x 2 to 4 inches. At the bottom of some of the designs: "Locomotion," "Ship Building," "Commerce," and "Agriculture." An unusual and highly decorative Camm stained glass design! Spectacular large mounted watercolor panel consisting of a total of 12 separate watercolor and ink designs by Camm Studios of stained glass arranged in three rows of four designs each, mounted onto a large gray card stock (with metal-lined whole punches on left side, indicating this was [possibly at one point a part of the company's promo portfolio. The dimensions of the mounting: 19 x 25 inches. Each individual stained glass design measures: 2 x 4 1/2 inches. Attractive large mounted watercolor panel consitsting of a total of 147 separate watercolor pieces over pencil with guache depicting Christ blessing two saints (or apostles), two children, and two women kneeling in prayer), designed by Camm Studios for stained glass windows. The faces are finely executed, and the layout is extremely well-balanced and please. Original Accession Number 9476, lower left, and again in pencil, lower right. Original dark green endsheets. All edges gilt. A fine copy of a beautiful cover and illustrated book with superb full-page woodcut illustrations by Holiday. A later copy, but alluring in the red cloth, and in fine condition.

Pages uncut to top edge (i.e. single sheet intact, unopened). A remarkable survival, very rare. Slightly toned, several leaves chipped to edges. WorldCat list three copies only.

Fabulous original printed wrappers with woodcut of Jack and Jill holding a pail of water, and with printed publisher and poem at bottom. 16 numbered pages (except for front cover, which is [1]. 16 wonderful half-page woodcut illustrations (one on every page). This appears to be the earliest copy of this title we can locate, with others a bit late published by Evans as well, but curiously with the imprint ìJ. Evans.î Our copy with ìT. Evans.î The discrepancy perhaps a relation within the publishers? Extremely scarce thus. Printed on very fragile paper which has seen some toning over the years and some spotting, untrimmed, edges frayed. Osborne p.97, listing a slight variation, ëPd by T. Evansí to front wrapper. In protective decorative paper folder. Only two copies found in WorldCat.

Superb half-page woodcut illustration on title page by Richard Doyle. Adelaide Anne Procter (1825-1864) was an English poet and early women's advocate, actively involved social helps organizations. A favorite poet of Queen Victoria, Coventry Patmore called Procter "the most popular poet of the day, after Alfred Lord Tennyson." An uncommon title by Procter, this volume of poetry not located on the internet at time of writing. Spine sunned, lacking rear free fly, else a very good, tight copy. Most scarce.

Frontispiece and twelve illustrations by L.E. Wright in a wonderfully expressive style, in the manner of Walter Crane. Printed on Unbleached Arnold paper. ìÖDollie Radford managed to unite the two opposite directions of the Pre-Raphaelite movement. She pursued the direction of a conservative aesthetics associated with the reflexive discourse of an art for art's sake ideology, which led to the Decadence of the fin-de-siecle poets. And she pursued the direction of a radical politics associated with the communal discourse of an Arts and Crafts ideology, which led to the socialism of William Morris and the feminism of the New Woman poets." (David Latham). Some soiling and foxing to covers, gift inscription to half title. A beautiful example of arts & crafts illustration and printing.
