Undated, assumed turn of the century with decorated binding in brown, red, gilt and black. Nice gilt gramed pictorial on front of Puck. Frontis illustration with light chipping at right border. Corners lightly worn and bumped. Solid clean copy with bright color.

Good+ Simpkin, Marshall & Co London 1848 hardcover 9 volume set. Green cloth bindings with gilt spine titles, engraved title pages and frontis engravings. There is light general agewear including chipping at spine extremities, foxing to frontis engravings and tissue guards. A few inside hinge papers are cracked, but all volumes are solid. This set belonged to Laura Astor Delano, daughter of General Armstrong and wife of Franklin Delano, great uncle of Franklin Delano Roosevelt for whom FDR was named. 6 of the volumes have "Laura A Delano, from her husband, July 29th 1849" inked on the front endpaper.

This report to the Smithsonian Institute includes the Battle of Little Bighorn. Binding was reglued with some foxing inside covers and some taping along inside front hinge. A couple of signatures protrude slightly. Some wrinkling of spine cloth. Some discoloration of bottom right rear of spine cloth. Vertical streak mark on front cover. Some light speckling to front cover. Still Very Good interior and a solid copy.
