Juvenile Non Fiction from The Periscope Collection

Lyn Ward collaborted his wife, May Mcneer, to produce some of the best children's non-fiction books in the late 1900s. The people selected in this book represented famous Americans who furthered the search for freedom. Only one page is torn out, p. 129, not part of the text.

For those looking for older history texts before the revisionists changed many accounts, this book has been deemed culturally relevant and is now preserved online as an e-book.

A very nice ex-library book with a library mylar cover over the dust jacket; the interior is unmarked, colors bright and shiny on every page.

No marks or turn downs inside.

Random House, 1953. HB. Good.. Library of Congress #53-6268. #5 in the World Landmark history series, illustrated by Douglas Gorsline. A simple re-telling of the Arthurian legends, without dialogue, and a unique foreword that tells how the tales of Arthur came to be, written for early elementary children. A fine introduction to the legend.

Rand McNally & Company, 1946. HB. Good. Dean Bryant. May possibly be a 1st edition since it was first published in 1946. A clean copy, in fine shape considering its publication date. Bible verses suited for children on each page

Universe Publishing, 2008. HB. Excellent. Munro Leaf. This book was originally published in 1943, entitled "Health Can Be Fun."

Franklin Watts, 1986. HB. Very Good. A "First Book" series was created by Franklin Watts publishing, and included a series about the Constitution, explaining to young readers the liberties that were outlined in our Constitution. Other titles explained the 2nd amendment, the right to privacy and states's rights. In pristine condition, no library markings.
