Dustwrapper not price clipped, with some slight rubbing and soiling, shelf wear a couple of tiny nicks and one short 5mm tear. Number 958 in the Everyman's Library. A very good copy.

Type: Z 64pp. A super copy of this interesting book which includes a DVD containing numerous personal accounts from American, British, Canadian and German veterans in a pouch on the front paste down. Profusely illustrated to each page in a magazine style, the book also has fold out maps and loosely inserted examples of photographic evidence of German defences, assignment orders, log books and recognition leaflets and many other articles/ examples of ephemera relating to the D-day landing. The book is very well preserved with a light bump to one corner only and a small stain mark to the rear end paper. Otherwise fresh and clean. Comes in original slipcase with quite significant rubbing and light bumps to the head and tail of the casing, making it in only good condition. Remains strong and protective. A near fine copy of this well illustrated reference book.

Original publisher's light brown boards - gilt embossed to the spine. Notable bumps to the lower corners of the front and rear boards with some associated creasing to the overlying jacket. The jacket has some uniform fading to the spine but the title in red remains completely legible. A bump to the head of the spine too with some associated creasing to the overlying jacket. A very good minus, clean, tight hardback copy.

Gilt embossed lettering to the spine and vignette of a deer to the tail of the front board. Light bumps to the head and tail of the spine and a little soiling to the spine and head of the boards, concealed under the wrapper. A little scattered foxing to the fore edges. Clean and tight. Dust wrapper not price clipped with light fading to the spine of the wrapper. There is some creasing to the head of the wrapper and light shelf wear. A very good copy.

Divided into two sections - Devises Heroiques and Devises Morales, the second with a separate title, containing respectively 26 and 28 half-page copper-engraved emblems or vignettes [total 54], a further engraved vignette to the title page. One vignette depicts bees swarming around a hive, another two hunting dogs have killed a lion, another a pomegranate (?) Page 77 contains one of the few know horological emblems from this date - a two train (?) wall mounted clock. First and last few leaves professionally repaired to the outer edge with Japanese tissue, contemporary or early annotations and scribbling to some pages, but, whilst noticable, these are generally pale and are not that obtrusive.
