No date - c (1920); 1920. Gilt embossed lettering to the front board and spine with a gilt embossed picture to the front board of a horse and colt by a river under a tree. Beautifully illustrated with 18 full page colour plates by Cecil Aldin, including a frontispiece plate tipped onto pages with tissue guards, all as called for. Bump to the head of the spine and to one corner. Light rubbing to the corners of the spine and boards with light shelf wear to the rear board and a few light faded areas to the front edge of the front boad, though not affecting the illustration in anyway. Light foxing to the fore edges and periphery of the first few and last few pages of the book. One tissue guard has a couple of creases to the top corner. The slightest of bumps to one corner at the tail of the spine. The jacket has not been price-clipped; it has some creasing to the head of the spine and is lifting a little to the tail of the front panel. A very good plus, clean, tight, bright copy in very good jacket.

Slight soiling to the boards. Faded 'F' in red ink to the front end paper. A few page corners have been turned, leaving neat creases. A very good copy of this book.

Slight soiling to the front fore edge and the front end paper. Slight foxing to the half title and title page. There is a small ink word 'catalogued' to the reverse of the front end paper. The book is clean and tight and is a very good copy.

Numerous colour and b/w illustations throughout support the text. Gilt embossed lettering to the spine witih the publishers embelm to the front board. Slightest of soil marks to the front board, under the wrapper. Small light soil spot to the front fore edge and a few to the upper fore edge. The pages are otherwise fresh and clean. No inscriptions. Dust wrapper has rubbing to the edges . Several tears of up to 5.5 cm to the head of the wrapper across the spine, repaired with clear sellotape to the outside of the wrapper and acid free archival tape to the underside of the wrapper. A little loss to the head of the spine of the wrapper. A few niks and short tears to the other edges of the wrapper, now also repaired to the underside. Despite the wrapper, the book remains tight and in a very good condition.
