Guidebooks from Turtleman Used Books

Little wear. Articles written by various authors. Many photographs showing Kent in the 1950s and 60s. Forward written by the Right Honourable Lord Cornwallis.

Minor wear. Owner's name on front cover. Many photographs in black and white and a few in color.

Little wear. Lower front right corner of the cover is bent. Owner's name inside front cover. Two fold-outs, one a map shown in photo #3, the other of a large structure, are fully intact.

Photo #3 is of King Charles's Tower. (Doesn't say which one.) This is a travel guide that would have been sold to tourists to the area. No date within, but I suspect it to be from the late 1950s. (Some of the automobiles in the photographs look more like 1930s and 1940s.) Little wear.

Little wear other than a couple of bumped corners. Many illustrations, about half in color. Owner's name on and inside front cover. Pages tight and clean, other than a few check marks. May be a rare book.

Old Sarum is the ruins of a fortified post-Roman English settlement from the Iron Age. Little wear.

A massive, if somewhat outdated, guidebook for the budget traveler. I am certainly listing this at the wrong time, but the Corona virus should come under control eventually, and by then we're all going to be stir crazy from terminal cabin fever that we'll need to go somewhere. Maybe Southeast Asia is your somewhere.

Trade paperback. First edition. I cannot promise that all the "pleasures" are still I business 27 years later. Bed and Breakfast operations seem to come and go, but in the south there is no shortage of stately manors to host such operations.
