Near Fine in better than Good dustjacket, some chipping at front flap edge (with some partial splitting), some shallow loss at top front panel, chip at mid spine and loss at top spine end.

Indianapolis: Bobbs-Merrill Co., (1928). First Edition Stated, in First Issue Dustjacket. Author's Pulitzer Prize winning novel of the Gullah inhabitants of South Carolina. Scarce title. Near Fine, red labels bright and crisp, black cloth has lost some of its sheen from use, in attractive Very Good dustjacket, some modest shelf wear, red color at spine modestly faded, half a dime sized chip at top front panel (price in tact at flap)

New York: Pellegrini & Cudahy, (1952). First American Edition of author's first book. Translated by Herma Briffault. Octavo, original green cloth. Near fine in Very Good or better dustjacket with a few small nicks at top and side of spine, not price clipped.

London: Richard Bentley and Son, 1875. First Edition. Two octavo volumes, original green cloth with gilt lettering. A very scarce set, only one copy on WorldCat. No sets at auction in past thirty years. Very Good firmly bound set, modest shelf wear, volume one with nicks and rubbing to top spine end, some mild foxing to early pages, contemporary owner signature and date at front endpapers and title pages.

No date, circa 1885. Large Folio set in six volumes. Extremely scarce, no complete sets at auction. Each folio with six lithographs.

London: Grant Richards, 1898. Second Edition, first printed by Grant Richards, in a print run of 500 copies. Octavo, original cloth. An attractive Very Good plus copy, bookplate at front pastedown, mild shelf wear

New York: Dodd, Mead and Co., 1930. First Dodd Mead Edition, first published by D. Appleton in 1915. (but first printing with) Arthur Hawkins Jr. dustjacket art. Humorous high-society mystery revolving around the disappearance of a rare species of Egyptian beetle. Scarce printing. Near Fine in almost Very Good dustjacket, chipped at spine ends, some closed tears mended with archival tape at verso, square inch piece of jacket at top rear panel reattached with archival tape at verso.

First Edition. H. dustjacket and cover art. Original rust red illustrated cloth, octavo, 61 pages. An unusually scarce recipe book with recipes for Soups, Fish, Meats, Vegetables, Salads, Pickles, Breads and Cakes, and Desserts. Some more specific recipes include Okra Gumbo, Crab Jambalaya, Waffles, a Mint Julep, and Peach Blow. Very Good but for having been bumped at fore-edge of front cover which has cut into cloth some, but lettering bright, in Good edge chipped dustjacket, with small chip at mid front panel and at front flap edge as well as mid-spine. 

London: George Redway, 1900. Early Edition, First Printed in 1897. Small Octavo, 7 3/4 x 5 1/2 inches. Original black cloth over boards, ink and gilt lettering and decorations at front cover and spine, gilt top edge. A scarce occult, literary hoax by Edward Irenaeus Prime-Stevenson, who is most-often remembered for his 1906 pioneering gay-themed novel Imre, published under the pseudonym Xavier Mayne. On top of the interesting provenance of this volume and its rarity, the cover art of this volume, portraying a mysterious fortune-telling figure beside a black cat, is truly excellent. A reprint of an extremely unique Gypsy system from the 18th Century. This is one of the rarest early works on Playing Card Readings and their interpretations. Very Good, cloth very slightly faded, spine ends and corners very slightly bumped, pages agetoned with some spotting, damp stain to bottom inner pages throughout but not affecting text.

New York: The Viking Press, 1937. Fifth Printing in Nineteenth Printing Dust Jacket. Large Square Octavo. Pink illustrated dust jacket, illustrated yellow end papers, illustrated by Robert Lawson. Signed and inscribed by author at title page. Very good in dust jacket with spine slightly darkened, two small chips at mid-spine, light wear to edges heaviest at spine ends and corners, fore-edge corners a bit rounded, some foxing to pages, pages with some smudging.

Garden City, New York: Garden City Publishing Co. . First Edition. Fantastic moveable parts book with four animations by A. V. Warren and illustrations by Kurt Wiese. Extremely uncommon in dustjacket. Near Fine bright copy with all four animations in great working order, in Very Good dustjacket, chipped at spine ends and rear flap corners, some closed tears at mid spine area

New York: D. Appleton and Co., 1904. First Edition. Uncommon work by the founder of the American National Red Cross and president from 1881 to 1904. Very Good but for noticeable moisture wave to pages, in Good edge chipped dustjacket with water stain to upper quarter.

London: David Bogue, 1853. Octavo, original orange blind stamped cloth, with gilt lettered and decorated spine. Black and white illustrations in the text, and a color frontispiece. Very Good condition with some wear to spine ends and front corners, a few spots on the front and rear covers, hinges starting but strong.

New York: John W. Lovell Company, 1886. WorldCat has a 1887 printing by Frank F. Lovell and Co. in Lovell's Household Library, but none of this edition dated July 23, 1886. Only copy of the 1887 printing is at the Yale University Library. First published by Charles Scribner's Sons on January 5, 1886, preceding the London edition by four days. Softcover, original decorated printed wrappers. Very Good, light wear to wrappers mostly at spine where there is some cracking and bumping to spine ends, amount one inch loss at spine foot, very light wear to edges, wrapper darkened from sun, pages mostly clean with some foxing, pages agetoned heaviest around edges, some water damage and staining to inside edge of text block.

New York: Vanguard Press, (1934). First Edition. Fuch's First book and acclaimed novel of Jewish life in the Williamsburg neighborhood of Brooklyn, the first of three volumes in the series. Very scarce. Near Fine in Very Good dustjacket.
