Top edge of pages have been cut and gilded, the others are untrimmed. Pages a bit marked and rubbed but overall a very good example. The original front wrapper has some small areas of loss to the edges and corners and has been professionally laid down. Bound in modern half red crushed morocco by C. Walters. Spine with raised bands, ruled in blind. Compartments lettered in gilt. Boards with dark red cloth. Burgundy endpapers. Previous owners bookplate (Douglas Peter Crossman, Earl Stonham) on front pastedown endpaper. Australia, 1952. Card Menu (4 sides). Farewell Dinner to Members of the Rowing Section of the Australian Rowing Team at The Hermitage Sydney, Friday May 30, 1952. Given by Members of earlier Crews to have rowed at Henley on Thames. 27 handwritten signatures on Menu, including those of previous Australian Rowing crews. Menu also contains the signatures of 13 members of the Australian Olympic Rowing Team for the Helsinki Games. Notable signatures include Mervyn Wood, who was the flagbearer for Australia at the Games and who also won a Silver medal in the Mens Single Skulls Event. Also, signatures of David Anderson, Philip Cayzer, Ernest Chapman, Thomas Chessel, Mervyn Finlay, Robert Tinning and Geoffrey Williamson who were part of the Bronze medal winning Australian eights. Finland: Compagnie Lyonnaise de Cinéma/Metheus Film/Rapid Film, 1966. 1st Edition . No Binding. Near Fine. Cinema-used Finnish one-sheet for the movie AGENT 505: DEATH TRAP IN BEIRUT. Agent 505, played by Frederick Stafford, was a German/Italian/French co-production aiming to capitalize on the success of the 60's spy-genre and in particular the James Bond franchise. He was the Common Market's 007. The film was first screened in Finnish cinemas in 1966 with no subsequent theatrical runs. This particular poster is a standard size 60cm x 40cm approx. It is fabulous and I was going to describe it as Mint Unused but then at the last second I noticed a pinhole and small tear at the centre top between the "V" and "E" in "Genevieve. Appears as though a tack was used to fix the poster and then it was just pulled through at dismounting. It really is difficult to spot. A very striking and uncommon, standard Finnish A2 cinema-used poster for the 1954 big-game hunting documentary, Africa Adventure, which follows a safari in East Africa led by famous hunter Robert Ruark. The film was released in Finland in 1956 with no subsequent theatrical runs. This poster is not a re-issue or a modern reproduction and nor is it Video/DVD-related. This particular poster measures 61cm x 40cm and was printed by Fotopaino Oy. The poster is in Near Fine condition with one small tear (less than half-inch) to the right edge and a short nick to the bottom edge. Minor creasing to the white border. There are neat single pinholes to the corners - quite difficult to detect. Appears to be a rolled poster with no definite folding creases. A very striking image - almost lithographic quality - in fantastic condition for a cinema-used poster.

This poster is not a modern reproduction and nor is it Video/DVD-related The film was screened for the first time in Finland in May 1950 and there were no further theatrical releases. A very rare treasure of movie memorabilia. Printed in Finland by Piiropaino Oy, the legendary Finnish printers. Signed at lower right corner by the designer (in the plate or stone) Measures 24.50" x just under 17.50" approx. A truly remarkable example - thin paper stock as you would expect from the era, it has been stored flat for decades but even so retains its original fold lines to centre in both directions. No pin holes and no tape residues to verso, however. Despite its fragility there are no nicks or tears to the edges but there is one very small chip (with loss, therefore) to the top edge towards the left. Fine or very near it.
