Wraps generally stained, bumped at the corners, pitting to the paper on the spine with loss of lettering. Square, bound with some reading wear, inscribee's name also on the half-title. One of Purdy's early novellas, one about an impoverished pair of brothers and their hardboiled life in Chicago.

The volume is soiled, rubbed on the edges and spine with several small chips on the spine, creased at the corners, and has a cresant shaped stain on the front cover.
